The full 56 minute doco is an intriguing insight into the pressure to win a World Championship.

I'll be interested in your views on the behaviour of the Ducati Team management.

@Johno
Don't think many on here care about Ducati.
I remember a time when some Aussie's did but I'm sure that was because Stoner was riding for them.

Johno thanks for putting up that Interesting doco. Looked like the bike had its shortcomings. Dovi didn't look too impressed with the advice he was being given. I note with the wins they all jumped with joy.....as they should. Yet when the performance and result was less than the team' expectations Dovi looked to be the focus of that under achievement.
He looked under a lot of pressure. A machine thats a smidge off the pace is a hard place to start from when trying to win a championship.
Worth a watch  :onya:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Kiwifruit,

You understood why I posted the link.

I thought the exchanges between Dovi and the Ducati managers was a real insight into professional sport.

They were prepared to bully him for his effort. It didn't look to me he wasn't trying.

He was putting his life on the line every time he got on the bike and their preoccupation was winning a championship.

Dicing at 350kph at close quarters on the main straight at Muegello takes balls. Check out last years race.

Louis Hamilton called it out when the officials were hesitating to cancel the Australian F1 GP.

Its all about money and prestige in professional sport

Irish,

Dovi has ridden for Honda and Yamaha as well. The Jap companies need someone else to beat.

Motor sport is the testing ground for technology.

The 1400s would still be running carbies and points ignition if the technology wasn't developed.

I'm not an advocate of more technology but I'd rather have electronic ignition on my 39 year old GS1000G which has required no maintenance since new.

While all my bikes bar one have been Japanese I'd rather they not have a monopoly over motorcycling.

The Dovi documentary is more about MotoGp and the rider than the team he was riding for.

I found the story gripping and like the Senna movie as much about politics and the off track goings on.

The Ducati management want Dovi to take that risk at time's so they can get that win, what I noticed is that he has a family with him on track, something I don't think Marquez has. I heard that the family thing may have been part of the reason Stoner gave it away.

And I love my points in my RD400 just to put the dial gauge in and the multimeter connected brings back memories.

I liked that Dovi video. He did it hard. The Suzuki team all seem to work together. I subscribe to their site, riders, Brivio etc. all post lots. All seem happy. Points i liked also, just how it was. Can remember on one GT750, forgot to turn key off. Those spanners sure fly when motor starts turning crank over. Guess i lived to tell.
