It's my own fault, went on a ride 3 months ago and clearly didn't rinse the road salt off and then sat in my damp garage since.
so do the clamps just undo and come off or is it completely dismantle everything - sorry not too mechanically minded ! :bugga:

@Notty ,I would clean off throughout and then douse with plenty of penetrating fluid and leave for an hour or so to do it's work. When undoing the bolt go carefully, if it tightens up STOP 🛑. Spray some more fluid on the bolt and do up slowly to get more fluid on the bolt and leave a while , then try again and hopefully they will come out. :notworthy:.

I've replaced the 2 middle one on all 3 bikes and outer ones on the 2 higher mileage bikes  with stainless ones from thing from Amazon.
If you need to replace them they come off very easily if you twist them front to back as they are only tack welded on and that break after 2 or 3 twists.
It also leaves a clean surface on the collector .
Good luck

and then buy repair clamps? do they disassemble to fit or does the collector box have to come off?  :bugga:

Personally I think you will have to take the collector box off to fit new clamps @Notty, bending them around the collector box to fit would be difficult and probably ruin the clamps. Plus whilst they can come off clean, you may need to file off any tack weld left on the collector box after taking off the originals, else the replacements wouldn't fit properly

See what happens when you overuse these bikes Notty? I have warned you about it before  :stir: :whistling:

If you get the original clamps of a described above and buy Stainless Mikalor Clamps, you can take the bolt out of these and open the clamp enough to go over the pipes. I have done this on mine so can get you the correct clamp side if any help

That's a bugger Notty.  It that rust or just a collection of crud?  It may come off with hot soapy water & a wire brush.  If not, least you don't have to take the headers off to remove the collector, bit fiddly & lots of laying on the ground unless you have access to a bike lift -    Froudy . . .  got a job for ya mate!  :whistling:
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Shame to find that Notty. Feel sorry for you blokes that have all that crud/salt on your roads. Must be such a pain dealing with the rust issues it creates.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

No problem, the clamps on mine are 43-47mm on the down pipe to collector box joints

Notty I should have said before, the site that I sent the link to was just the first one that popped up doing a google search so I can't vouch for them but the site looks genuine enough & and there are plenty of other suppliers around. I was fortunate to be working for an industrial hose company when I needed mine  ;)

Actually @Notty, how bad are they - if you get a spark plug wire brush (which is quite small), would the rust brush off? You could then douse them in Plus Gas / WD40 to clean them up and they may be good as gold?
