14 with a front that really felt planted, never worries me but often wondered why it never does. Always feels like too much movement, every tyre  ive tried. My old Ducati, old gsx were planted. xjr just sit and dont move. Just a feeling but yeah always seem a bit dievy compared to other bikes.

Grog if the tyre isn't the issue then check forks  might sound obvious but check both are set the same

Liking the Road 5's and like the 55 profile rear.

@Snapey.
I, like yourself ride to the speed limit.......yesterday I was riding along at 99kph on my way to Auckland, Then the man coming towards me stops me to tell me my speedo should have be reading 116kph. He said the invoice for that service will arrive in the mail within 7 days.

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

KiwiCol

That's a bugger Col.  that's 3 in quick succession from memory, those points will be adding up, you speed maniac.  :cruisin:

It's utter B/S isn't it.  :furious:  You'd be one of the safer riders out there, I reckon anyway.  :onya:

I recall what you posted a while ago, they target our demographic because we'll pay, younger ones just accumulate them & get them wiped.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

SheepDog

Caught a break in the weather and went for a ride on the old girl and new tyre.
I won't go on about the tyre but I can tell you after approx 200 klms the tyre STILL LOOKS NEW  ..... how FFS?   :onya:

KiwiCol

Clocking up 200k whilst still on the main stand will do that for ya . . .  :imrgreen: :whistling:

Seems a big difference even with the 55 profile tyres, did you do the calculation or use my GPS method and put a few markers on speedo.

Kiwifruit

No lrish l was doing 119 when he first got me but locked me at 116. l'd say the speedo is bang on with the 55 tyre on. Was just in top gear cruising along. Our open road speed limit is 100kph. Copper said he liked bikes, he was from Ramsey in the IOM. Shame he didnt get the tosspot with the handlebars higher than his head. How can anyone safely ride a bike like that ?
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Big Geordi

Am still using original Pilot Powers as u can still get them ;) Best rear 2700 miles worst 934 miles  ;) :rofl3:

DP1400

I`m thinking i`ll need to replace both tyres at some point this summer, so the exchanges in this thread are really helpful :onya:. I`ll refer back to it nearer the time.

As a footnote, i`ve always found that bikes built within the last 20 odd years are really sensitive to tyre pressures. A couple of pounds either way of `optimum` and the ride is badly affected and can be downright dangerous. Get it bang-on for you and the bike and the ride is transformed. Anyway, I thought it worth mentioning.....
