They hate being passed by a bike on a mountain road but  from a few experiences I've had , let me tell you they REALLY hate being passed by a car

Not as much as Ducatis...

I passed one on the A93 southbound from Glenshee ski area, he sodding hated that but I was sick of him holding me up in the bends. I was in my old Saab with a dog in the back so hardly pushing too hard, although it did like a bit of trailbraking to loosen the arse end as you turned in. Got to the long straight near the bottom & he came screaming past, shame he'd already lost really

I have similar to that Hooli when we are out on club runs - guys on sports bikes roar down the straights but have no idea about corners, brake up like crazy and wobble round, they really hate it when my Tiger1200 comes round the corner on the inside of them and exits onto the straight in front of them. Minutes later they roar by. Makes me smile.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Similar but not the same.......
Saturday coming home from Hampton Downs. Catch a guy (not on a twin) going up the Kaimais. Then we arrive behind some slow cars, knowing we are soon approaching a passing lane l drop back. Barely at the passing lane and he's off past a couple of cars. I'm catching him and the ĺane is merging back into one lane. Double yellow lines now (no passing) but not him. He kept weaving in and out past more cars. I dont overtake on double yellow lines. If you get caught its dangerous driving. Thats really gonna trash your license. Guess he didnt like getting caught going up through the twisty bits. And I dont push it ... way too many trucks on that road.  Funny   :jack:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

The bloke in the vid crashed for one reason only, poor road positioning, he should have been on the left side of the road for a right hander, this would have given him a much better view and some manoeuvring space had there been a pothole, dead alligator or fallen tree etc.  By being in the wrong position he had nowhere to go when he hit a pothole which forced him off into the woods.  The second bike had much the same issue but was watching his mate and not the road so followed him into the woods.  I don't like to see bikes crash but their crash was easily avoided if they had paid more attention to the road and their position on it.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

The best satisfaction is when you leave the R1's, Tiger's, Monsta'a etc behind when you are riding an old Katana 1100S, GPZ900R or FJ1100.

Yeah the harley guys were certainly coming up with plenty of excuses but it comes down to ambition exceeds talent there.

Whilst at a trade-show around 15 years ago, a customer of mine said to me that he knew I was a biker (then) & that his life's ambition was to save up a buy a new Harley, well at this meeting he proudly told me that he'd finally got it the day before & proceeded to lament on & on about it, very proud he was, fine, the guys realized his dream, & that was that.
These were annually staged trade shows around the country, so, one year on, at the same show, up pops our customer, 'how's the Harley man then' asks I,  'Don't talk to me about that fuckin pile of crap' say he, got shot, never again.
I felt it best to leave it at that, but  managed to sell him one of MY products. :)
I DO have to grow old, I DO NOT have to grow up.

I've left a Gixxer 600/750 (I can't tell) over the Cat n Fiddle on my '76 Bonnie in the past. He seemed pissed off when I out braked him into a bend & gave him a big grin & thumbs up as I went down the inside

Geez Hooli the Gixxer rider must have been bad,  remember being on an RD400 on the UGP track sitting behind a Bonnie and an RD200 and the RD all over it, only place the Bonnie got a look in was up the hills. The 200 rider was a promising future racer.

One of my favourites was exiting the m25 anti-clockwise at jct16 onto the m40-oxford, if you know it it is a big loop.  I was on my fj1200 ,fully cranked over on the outside passing a group of R1's and Blades with the biggest grin I can tell you, they all looked-at  me with a WTF!! expression. A heartwarming day.:imrgreen::imrgreen:

He was bloody awful, but had passed me on a straight & then got in my way so it was rude not to go back past.

Remember this `70`s Ad:-

`Whats new, blue, and moves at 104mph - The Yamaha RD400`

The Ad should then have added - But the S3 400 Kawasaki Triple is a damn sight quicker.....and faster (108mph!). :stir:

How I used to luv blowing the `new` RD`s away, they could only ever get past me at fuel stops!

This is great Irish, thanks for posting :onya:

I`ve still got an original copy of this `Bike` mag, and others of particular interest to me. The Kawasaki Highway (KH) marques were still great looking bikes (in the right paint scheme) but had certainly lost their performance edge . Thanks America - NOT!
