I'm going to look at a bike that's showing a FI fault after charging the battery. I'll do the paper clip test to get the code but I'm wondering what's happened to cause it. Any suggestions?

undo the battery and let it sit for an hour or so, sometimes things get a spike and need a bex and a little nap

Wonder if it was charged in situ?

I'd say it was Col.
It's not best practice to do that, but mostly you get away with it, especially with a trickle charge.  Now, just maybe the key was left in there & turned on, the ecu could have been spiked if that's the case.    Fuse?

No mate, It's Alan Brewsters old bike and the bloke I sold it to has re-sold it to a friend of Jo's. She asked if it was OK to give him my contact details so I'll have a look on Saturday if he gets in touch.
