Finally got round to fitting my heated grips, put a relay in line as well so I didn't forget about them and come back to a flat battery.  Need a dry day now to test them.

Nice one. I`ve got Oxfords fitted and I wouldn`t be without them - i just switch on, `dial`in the temp req and enjoy the miles. They also help reduce the tingling/numbness I suffer in my hands thanks to helping with my circulation. :onya:

Got them on my Beamer, love em.

We have Oxford heated grips on all our bike the earlier ones are wired into a switched live so only on with the ignition the new set are Oxford intelligent ones they know when the bikes running and switch off if they sense the battery voltage dropping when the bikes not running.
Great bits of kit

Oxfords on mine too.Work well.
Like DP14 l use them to help keep the numbness at bay. Seems to do the trick.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Curious to know if they turn off if the bike is hooked up to a trickle charger

Steve - mine are manually activated, ie. the heater control is also the on/off turn switch. To date i`ve never forgotten to switch them off thankfully. I`m not sure how much juice they take therefore i can`t confidently confirm whether a trickle charge would be enough to compensate for the energy they take from the battery over a significant period of non use. Obviously this whole issue depends on how they`re wired up and as mine were fitted prior to my purchase of the bike, i`m afraid i can offer you a reliable view on that.

@steve porter
The Oxford v8 controller will switch off after 5 minutes so will need to be reactivated after that, however if you put on a tickle charge within that period I would assume it would stay on, but I have not tried it personally.
If have a straight connection from battery via fuse to this system and never had any problems.

Mister Fishfinger

Should be easy to test, there's an LED on mine that flashes when it goes into battery saver mode so you know what it's doing.

Just to complicate things the BSM (battery saver mode) can be overridden, I would upload the file but forum will not allow "docx"

You should find it here.

Big Phil

Hi All,  I've ordered a set of Oxford heated premium grips and was wondering where's the best place to mount and fit the heat controller? Any pictures would be especially appreciated.

Thanks

Nic

The Oxford grips come with a bracket but I made my own and fitted as per pic.

Kiwifruit

Same place just bent the backet to suit.
