Hi All
I wonder if you guys can help me out with this, I have exactly the same issues as this but I dont have an alarm. I have already removed the PC3

I have swapped out the Cam Shaft sensor but still same issue
The F1 light only comes on after holding the starter in for a while
Get a loud click and just the primer running
Any ideas of what else to try would be greatly appreciated

More info mate. Does motor turn over? If not, voltage at starter motor. Voltage at starter, use battery earth and compare with frame earth, could be earth lead. If volts around 9.5 or less, battery stuffed. If you have good volts at starter or jump pack applied, starter motor gone. More info to help further.

When I hit the starter button the fuel pump just primes
No turn over no starter motor running

Even with jump leads connected nothing, I am going to be doing some voltage testing then!

Mate, go to starter motor solenoid wire, are you getting full voltage there when pressing starter button. If yes, its starter motor. If no, could be lots of things.

Kill switch set to the run position and side stand up? Sorry to state the obvious but I think most of us a one time have made these oversights  :embarassed:

Thanks guys, yeah all obvious check battery voltage OK and easy to test. How do I test the starter motor do I need to get it out?

seth

C11 is camshaft postion sensor fault
C12 is crankshaft postion sensor fault
The F1 is a general fault code telling you to go to dealer mode to get the other fault codes you have.

I would suspect is not s fault with any of these but will be a corroded wire or plug in the circuits that ate connected to these parts and that's where I would be checking before buying any new parts .
Tip for you
1 quick option for testing the parts is to meet another member from near you and swop them from a working bike .
Good luck
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Cheers for help so far guys, so tonight I borrowed a multimeter one probe into negative battery point other to soloniod on starter. When I press the button I get 12volts, does this sound like starter?

KiwiCol

Is that 12v while cranking? If so, battery is good. If it drops below 9.8v while cranking, it's most likely the battery.  Could also be a bad earth too.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Hooli

Get a jump lead from the battery & put 12v direct to the starter, if it turns over then it's probably the solenoid at fault.

I'd expect those codes when the ECU thinks the engine should be spinning but isn't, so it's getting readings it's not expecting.

bikerface

Thanks all, plan on taking the starter out at weekend to see if I can get it to spin up.
If it doesn't like Hooli said then I guess it's new starter, that's better than finding other electrical faults.

Went and had a look to get the starter out, do I need to take the oil hoses out??

To get the starter out the oil hose needs to come off as it is in the way to get to a screw or two.

Spent an hour trying to get an Allen key on the bolt closest to the block and gave up, any ideas?
