Using the Prefix Filter
« on: Friday, 17 February 2017, 04:09 pm »
A number of our forums, primarily the technical forums, use prefixes to allow members to quickly identify and locate formal technical threads.

Traditionally "stickies" have been used to keep these handy, and for the really important/detailed ones this will STILL be the case.

But as the number of useful tech threads becomes greater in number, we can't sticky them all.

So, we've taken a different approach.

Using the "Electrics" forum as an example.

At the top of the forum you will see the various prefixes available. (indicated by the arrow and outline in the screenshot below)

You will see the various options - How To, Tech Tip, Video, No Prefix, and Show All Topics.

If you press one of these in that list, it will show only threads of that type.

Examples:

So there you go!  No matter how 'buried' a topic ever gets you'll quickly be able to access any of the prefixed thread types !

Why not head over to the Electrics forum now, and give it a try !

Nice approach to keeping things organised and readily retrievable.
