Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Possibly meant to read it as 'Jekyll' as in Jekyll n Hyde?       Obscure nonsense anyway.

Saw a super flash V8 Ute today with the number plate "NO RWC"

(No Roadworthy Certificate) Kind of like MOT for you UK personages.
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

For you Aussie personages the RWC or Rego Check is nothing like the MOT. Its well known most QLD vehicles are not road worthy  :whistling:

All mine are perfect Irish. That is rare in Qld.

Mine would fail a fussy roadworthy inspector,
aftermarket pipes, non E spec indicators, other mods,
but having lived in the UK for 40 years and spent 15 years here there really isn't the difference folk make out.
You get badly maintained shit box cars and bikes in both countries if they get inspected or not.

VladTepes

true true but it's the closest analogy I had.

Well having done a few MOT's in the last 15 month's bikes and cars and a couple of NSW Blue Slips (which we all hate doing) just shortly before I left Oz, the Blue Slip Test doesn't even compare to test equipment in the UK government workshops done every year. Might be different in England where I think they where done by local mechanic's but I read there were problem's.
I can tell you there are no shit box vehicle's in NI, they must have the most BMW Range Rovers Merc Audi etc per capita in the world.

KiwiCol

This is interesting, with all these stringent tests & mostly new cars, are the roads over there in NI & UK much safer? ie has the death toll dropped significantly with these new regulations?  It's not a wind up, just asking, as down this neck of the planet we have a lot of older cars, so a perspective from a different environment would be good.
