Haynes manual. Usually pretty good i thought. Just re read, says in text one ring then in pics shows 2. Anyway, past that now. Just need to get them on bike and working. Will re do the set that comes off, someone might need them.

Hooli

I always fill the system from the bottom with a syringe of brake fluid as they are a bugger when dry. I'm sure you've got more fancy toys than that to use though.

What manual is that? I've just checked the Suzuki one and it correctly shows one O-ring. It also makes no mention of tapered seals.

I agree 100% with @Hooli. I've rebuilt a number of GSX1400 calipers over the years, no tapered seals and one O-ring.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Hooli

I fitted my repaired sump today, just back from a test run & it's all good.

That oil pipe inside that falls out when you remove the sump. Easy way to solve that, just squeeze the U-shaped bit on the top that locates into the guide in the bottom of the engine. It'll grip on enough to hold the tube in place while you fit the sump that way.

Have a couple of pics of the repaired sump before fitting.

Yetiman

Hey, I took out the brake pads and pumped the pistons out enough so I could give them a good clean in a bucket of warm soapy water, Then sprayed all the pistons with silicone spray and pushed the pistons back in, It made them smooth as, I then Installed new pads and replaced all the bolts with new 316-S/S Bolts, Also installed some Carbon-KYB stickers on the folk legs.

Well done @Hooli looks like a good job  :onya:

@Yetiman looks good also. I like the leg stickers  :onya: :onya:

Bugger - bike has sat in my neighbours drive for last 8 weeks whilst I had garden/patio done - seems it wasn't covered as well as I thought and chain has rusted. Tried to clean up but looks crap so new chain . Bike has only done 5k since last chain and sprocket - chain ordered DID 530 ZVMX GG Gold 116 Link X-Ring Ultra Heavy Duty Chain
Should I change the sprockets as well?  :bugga: :bugga: :bugga:
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

KiwiCol

Great choice on the chain Notty.  :onya: I very much doubt you'll be needing new sprockets as well, I know I wouldn't replace them at that distance.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

I've a set of part worn sprockets if you want them lol
I'd say you should be fine if you've only done 5k as the chain and sprockets will only just be run in rather than worn out .
only a slightly modified gsx1400

Hooli

He can't ride it, it's still got the original tank of fuel from when it was sold new!

Eric GSX1400K3

Beat me to it Hooli   :clapping Notty would need to ride it faster than he's ever done..... :stir:
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

T250

Fitted new chain and sprockets during my hunt for rough running low down...which turned out to to be the battery
DID ZVMX GG and JT carbon steel rear sprocket, JT silent front sprocket and new fully sealed carrier bearing.
Chain did need replacing tbh and the front sprocket was starting to curve
