To day I got mega lucky
I was away to a rally this weekend up in the far north of Scotland.
All went well a fantastic dry ride up 245miles and a great time was had.
Today was the ride home and after 230 miles when almost home I came out if a corner onto a fairly long straight.
Half way along the straight sitting around 60mph the road was covered in wet fresh very slidey clay/mud.
I managed not to brake even tho I was full lock to lock on a fully loaded bike but kept it straight while closing the throttle .
After about 500meters the mud ended and the bike regripped the road a very lucky escape there were no signs or any kind of warning .
I court up with a bunch of 12 cyclists just after and guessed if id court them in the mud a few if them and me would have been seriously hurt .
:furious: :furious:
Anyway home bike washed and chilling out .

Very lucky Seth. Perhaps a lotto ticket might be in order.
Well done not to panic and brake.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

If it had been a corner or a shorter straight or anything else in the road I was going to be off . :frustrated: :furious:

Nice work managing not to panic & do something daft like brake seth

Pleased you came through that alright, albeit fresh undies needed.   That's one hell of a big road hazard, one we riders can do without.  Least you saw it, diesel & black ice are harder to spot, but have the same potential for disaster.

Couple of stiff ones to calm the nerves after that I'd say.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Lucky escape there seth and isn't always the same travel miles and then nearly come a cropper close to home  , its terrible this time of year with wet fields and farmers just leaving there shit all over the road and dont realy give a damn about any body else .

Well done Seth. Sometimes luck is our only friend. Those kinda moments sure shake us up.

Where I lived in the US, farmers (everyone for that matter) faced stiff fines for not immediately cleaning up after themselves. All loads needed to be covered. Should be law all over the world.

Sweaty

Glad you are Ok Seth, sure would of scared the S""t out of you.

There suposed to do that over here ! ...... but nobody seems to enforce it unless there is an accident and someone gets hurt  :frustrated: , a bit bloody late then ?
