Update.

Price from the dealer was €800 to fix it. I obviously said no I'm not paying that much. Breakdown idiots are now deciding if they'll take it back to the UK. I've made it quite clear that is what I expect after all this inconvenience and stupidity on their part. They had the cheek to offer to help scrap it overy here if they said no, can you guess my answer?
I've got no hotel for tonight and the city is almost sold out. I'm awaiting a call back about a flight home that they claim they are booking and news on getting my bike home.

Remember people don't trust AXA breakdown in europe. They are utterly useless which is odd as they've been great in the UK previously.

seth

Be very wary buddy and don't trust them.
It can take months for your bike to come home .
And after the hassle you had so far they will tell you anything to get you out of thier hair .
Tell them to give you 1 way hire of a van and you'll get yourself home.

Pretty much all breakdown companies use AXA even if it doesn't say so .

I can get parts to you DHL over night for £60 .
If you can get any joy there.
It's the weekend so might be Monday before they actually get to you.
only a slightly modified gsx1400

I can't go save you now. But if you can hire car and arrived to me I can borrow you parts from my bike and tools for change. That is no problem. You are about 550km from me. That is maximum what can I do for you. BR Vici

Hooli

Thanks guys.

I fly home in the morning and my bike follows within two weeks. They finally agreed it all this evening.

So once home I'll order new parts, uprated stator if I can for the extra load, reg/rec even if this one tests ok and the right multiplug etc to chop out the burnt wiring. That should all arrive about the same time as the bike I reckon.

Blime Hooli I really feel for you mate..
Reading your saga with horror...
Hopefully your bike will repay you with a faultless Scottish meet up.
I will treat you to a decent drink when we meet.... For the shock of course !!

Globalrider

I feel for you Hooli,
I doesn't happen often to us but when it does it usually like your experience.
Take care
Stan
I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

ARH

Damn!!  What a bloody nightmare.... sorry Hooli,  Villach about 250kms from me but I've been in Düsseldorf all week so not much use to you!  Hope you and the bike get home safely!

KiwiCol

Nothing today, been working on the boat - bit of p.m. before the season kicks off again. But tomorrow, I ride!!! Be the first time for quite a while & am looking forward to it muchly. Supposed to be a fine day, albeit a bit cool, but that's ok. Might be just a lazy few hundy k's out n back to see how far it is.   Keep safe guys.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Kiwifruit

We got to Gizzy this weekend but in the car Col. Bit damp in the shade through the Waioeka Gorge. One lane where the slip was recently.
Have a great day out on the bike tomorrow.
Skid carefully !! :onya:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

froudy

Fitted new front brake light switch.
One of the tags on mine had corroded badly resulting in an intermittent connection. It finally fell off last week.
Crazy price for a bloody switch made in China. I got it from Robinsons of Rochdale and with my 15% discount it still cost £17.98 delivered ffs :furious:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Notty

Bought R&G fork protectors  :)
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

Hooli

I left my bike behind & flew home. It due to turn up in a couple of weeks & they'd better not bugger me about over it.

In other news, how the hell do people fly regularly? what a sodding awful way to travel! airports are pure hell, planes are cramped & I've now got a sore throat.
