Changed oil, filter and washer. Removing the sump plug washer is the longest most difficult task of an oil change.

Managed to use 2 litres less oil than last time. Yea - I remembered to put the sump plug back in this time  :clapping:

Cleaned chain and back wheel. (Gotta go back the Wurth non fling chain lube)

Bought some cleaner to free the floating disc round things

Yesterday evening actually....
Changed the rear shock damping setting from 4 to 3 after reading something on the forum (can't find it now) and took it for a run, just under 90 miles. Very much improved ride!

Dust, keep the r. damping up but lower spring pre load. i use only 2 now, 4 if my 50kg wife sitting on rear. Buddy, Wurth is worthless. all on here somewhere. might as well pour some beer over the chain. get some castrol vmx gear oil, it actually works. makes a mess but easily cleaned.

I just looked at my bike again today, another day I can't ride it due to my shoulder, and teared up a little....

Ok Grog - I'll look for the posts. I had some real sticky sh*t some guy uses on his racing kart. Also gard to clean.

Anyways - Changing front & rear brake pads today. Was going to do the caliper seals but in trying to support my local dealer I have ended up with front  piston kit for one side only   :frustrated:

Don't bang you head against the wall. There will always be another pay day :boogie2:

Only changed the rear brake pads and cleaned caliper. Got the high beam flash switch working - Grogs trick - a squirt of contact cleaner.

Buddy, thats prob a good thing. advice on brakes, im not a know all but just trying to help, past findings. instead of re kitting caliper seals, prob best if you really want. can of brake cleaner. calipers off. spray every bit you can see around pistons/rubbers. just one by one push pistons back in, if free , all good. if not, pop it out, re seal. i reckon they will be all ok. we dont get salt n crap like uk riders. return un used seals to crappy dealer. bleed, then bleed again. a month later bleed again. bobbins free in rotors, brake cleaner again, many ways to do. then just use them, theyll work perfectly. new fluid every 2 years. how i do it. unreal roads in your area, test the brakes coming down the range. no brakes needed on mt carbine rd, love that road.

Yea thanks mate. Good advice. Apart from regular oil changes the periodical service items have been neglected. I'm no expert but keen to do stuff myself and it goes without saying the info available on here gives the confidence to complete a lot of tasks. Even bought a couple of torque wrenches today and was surprised at the tension cut off. I had been over tightening things.
I tried to get the SCA bleed kit but they not supplying them anymore as there were too many broken before they left the store

Not my bike, but did some minor work on my mum's bike today. Fork oil, working grease in the steering bearings & air in the tyres made it work a bit better. It's still stupidly small & a slow but it's not unsafe anymore.

Lost my number plate during my 570km trip today
Seems like it felt off some where on road construction segment.
Now need to get an duplicate (10€) or maybe order new one  (something like "14OO" for 235€)

I changed the clutch fluids. Fluids were totally black, and it was third time in five years I changed them. Brake fluids were changed also last time and they are still OK clear.
Same thing, black sludge in clutch fluid, in XJR 1300 and Bandit 1200..
Does anybody know what is that black shit and from where it comes? Why not in brake fluids?
The fluid itself is the same DOT 4+ in all of those three bikes now, I cant know what fluid they had, but they were black.

Different lines?  Would you have braided lines on the brakes & std on the clutch?

It's damn odd I'll agree.
