Hooli

As this became mine about 11:30 this morning I can put it in this thread.

So.... today I bought it home in a mate's trailer.

It's a K3 with about 46k miles on. Very clean & apparently hadn't see rain for 5-6 years before I wheeled it outdoors in the rain to get it in the trailer. I was surprised when I got there as it looked a lot better than the advert pics showed, I had half a plan to turn it black as the custom paint looked horrible in the advert but I like it in person so it's staying. No one else will have one quite the same either. There some bits that are changing but nothing too major, no rush either as with all the polished bits on it, as it won't see bad weather if I can help it.

Anyway pics for your enjoyment

The basic plan to change -
Bars
Barends
The aftermarket mirrors that had to come off to get it in the trailer
The seat
The engine bars
Get the clocks & poss headlight back to chrome
Headlight as it's a LHD replacement so dips the wrong way
Reservoir lids back to standard
That aftermarket torquearm can go too
Fit standard grabhandle bolts if I can get some
Wavey discs are getting swapped with standard ones as a mate wants them on hers & I think they're ugly as sin
If I can source standard clutch springs, I'll replace the heavy duty ones in it as they aren't needed at all without major power increases. I've not looked yet if Suzuki still do them

Possibly get the swingarm polished as nearly everything else is & it looks odd still anodised

That's about it apart from go through it & do all the jobs I like to do to get them riding just right. That should be
Fork oil
Check & grease steering bearings, swing arm bearings & shock pivots
Check wheel & sprocket bearings
Replace vacuum pipes
Pairs removal as I think it's still got it fitted
Check TPS/SPS balance everything up, adjust cables etc
It's had a teabag but I'll check it & add the little external filter on the LP line
Strip, clean & refit the clutch slave cylinder

I think that's about it, I'll probably find or remember a few other bits as I do it.

Hooli

Oh the missing ECU & battery is additional security on top of various other bits not in the pics. With the battery & ECU in the house the bike won't be going anywhere under it's own power.

I'm made up for you Hooli.
I like it, I also like the murial on the tank and the stumpy can/cans. 4 into 1 or 2 ? I bet they sound nice.
Well done son.

Thanks.

4-2 as a K3 should be, it does sound nice & I already ride with someone who's got the same cans so I know how good they sound under load too.

The lightning stuff is that dip process? I forget the name rather than paint, it's on the mudguard, tank & tail. Looks great in person. The original advert pics made it look like a matt black stripe & white splotches on the tail, it really surprised me in person.

Good for you Hooli!  I'm pleased for you.  Rip into it & make it your own.  I'd leave the seat though, looks great.  I've got a standard one in perfect condition if ya wanna swap . . .

What's this one going to be called?  Bluey?  Bluebell?  Papa Smurf / Smurfette or maybe Stitch?
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

You paying postage on the seats?  :happy1:

Not a clue on a name yet, it's being referred to as 14 Mk2 until it develops a personality.

KiwiCol

Cool, Mk2 will probably stick.  (sounds like Mach 2 as well)
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Was the seller a member ?
I do like the lightning bolt custom paint.

The way you ride, potentially call it "The Flash" 🥹

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Kiwifruit

Well done Hooli, won't take you long to make it how you like it.
Hope it treats you well.

All the upcoming attention will make ole Harvey Parkinson quite jealous.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Barbastro K6

Agree. I would also return it to the prettiest original instead of the pastel blue etc etc

Pommeroy

Really chuffed for you Hooli...you deserve a bit of luck.
There's always room in the world for a bit more tolerance and kindness.

Onya Hooli, well done mate.  I've also got a std seat if you wanna swap.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Hooli, im with the seat keepers, hate those stock seats.ECU out should deter them.👍A simple hidden kill switch might work for you?
