Another thought has come to mind this morning.

If you've got a PC3, the black wire with the red terminal is going earth on the battery? cause it should be but the red terminal often confuses & that'd stop the injectors firing & I don't believe triggers any codes from when I've forgotten to connect it once or twice.

Hooli remembers too much crap he reads over the years & works on a lot smaller selection of motors than grog has.

No wins yet. One would be hard pressed to put injector leads back on incorrectly as theyre wired to fit the injector spacing. Have unplugged and washed out connectors in headlight bowl with contact cleaner. I haven't unplugged the grey plugs under LH side covers for ECU. Have ordered plugs while I'm here, have never replaced them and $40 for 4 is fine by me. Have checked coil packs and leads, all are in place and pushed fully in place. Battery cranks strong, haven't disconnected the PC3, the display works when cranking. Ran out of time to go further, it must be the something with the pump, maybe I've stuffed the regulator seal. I did wire the plastic clip on and oil all the seals prior to reassembly, all felt like it popped back together ok. Can't reverse polarity by mistake I'm pretty sure.. Will be removing and checking flow next chance I get.

I thought you'd confirmed fuel delivery earlier on? so I was just thinking electrical.

Pop the fuel hose off at the injector rail & measure the flow rate, the correct info is in the manual somewhere. You can do that by just lifting the back of the tank.

I had similar issue after flushing hi Pressure filter.
Rubber O ring in pump assy was not seated properly, refitted properly & fired up 1st press.
Good luck

Weather's not great here so I'm having some time in the shed, started going over the RF900...

Fuel tap is set up wrong, 180 degrees out for its ON / OFF / RES. No problem, I'll turn the lever 180 degrees... except the lever only fits one way... I wonder if someone's had it to bits and put the internals 180 degrees out ?

Someone's put the main fairing on, then added all the extra panels and trim... but didn't put the main bolts in for the main fairing that can't be done with all the other panels in place.

Fuse box has a fuse for main beam, and a fuse for dipped. Except one fuse does nothing and the other fuse does both, with the dipped / main switch now being reversed.

Bolts for the grab rail mount into holes with the threads stripped, so someone has ground down two nuts and slid them underneath it and used longer bolts!

............ so I soaked everything in WD & CRC and put a cover back over it.  Not a huge drama, I knew it was going to have issues and it was very very cheap, I'd have paid the price for the parts I wanted off it. I'm certainly going to be double and triple checking the brakes, chain and tyres!

On the bright side the GSX1400 burst into life at the first attempt. (That has a long list of jobs too)

Ahh RF fuel taps...

My first big bike was a RF600, first long ride I went on & it coughed & died in the outside lane of the motorway. Reached down for the fuel tap, which took a while to find then when I got my fingers on it the tap vanished into the bodywork. That was a fun freewheel across several lanes of live traffic to find the thread gone in the mounting hole after I'd been fishing inside the bodywork to find the tap & get it on reserve.

That got a nut behind it rather than a proper fix too.

Fresh oil and filter  rego and WOF. Always seems to ride better after an oil change  :onya:
Do need to lube the rear brake lever pivot, it has that dry aluminum stutter feeling to it.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Working on the RF900.

Got a few more jobs done, tided up a few bits, fitted a couple of nutserts.

Pretty sure the fuel pump needs to be replaced.

Fortunately it's a small external pump under the sidepanel.

Not so fortunate is it's listed at $475 - no stock.
I did look at a similar GSX1100G pump but that was $631 - no stock.

Aftermarket pumps seem to be between $20 and $160.  Even though several bikes pumps are listed with different part numbers the aftermarket ones seem to cover all models.

I'll do some research and see which ones get good feedback.

If Kemso or Quantum pumps are options Tony both are fine. I generally lean towards Quantum.

Unfortunately as a long term KTM enduro owner and unofficial mechanic for several KTM owning mates I have experience with both - no issues.

Fitted a powerbronze hugger over the weekend over the weekend along with a fork  s that have been rebuilt with new stanchions/seals etc plus new discs/pads.
Jury's out on the hugger, like the look, instructions poor quality, will see how it goes on the fitment side.

Finally got some time back in the garage. Hooli I did think I'd ruled out fuel, could smell it in the can and saw it flow in the filter. Pulled out the pump again, looked at all seals and fitment, tested pump again, worked fine. Couldn't find anything. Back together and kicked over beautifully. Maybe a seal i couldn't see just not sitting quite right.

Hooli

At least it's sorted bud, sometimes they just like more attention.

Phill P

Had a few conversations with powerbronze today on why my new hugger isn't fitting quite right, I may have found a reason.
Does anyone else have this rivnut insert for the chain guard sticking out as far on your swinging arm or are yours almost flush

Irish in Oz

Looks like someone has managed to insert it upside down.
