Tried out the new double bubble screen, good at 70, 80 is managable, 90 is still neck busting  :rofl2:
have you tried another helmet? I had a Shark that was very round, and on long rides would make my neck very stiff, found out it was due to it being so round it would create vortex shedding (look it up on google) that would then buffet my head from side to side, with my neck having to compensate, hence the stiffness. Now a new Shoei, more Aero in shape, and no more buffetting and no more sore neck. I don't have a screen on the K3.

It's a Simpson venom so not the most aerodynamic and in fairness I don't normally go that fast even on my private test track  , I really just wanted to see if the screen helped over the normal screen, which it did.

Can we see a pic of both the screen & helmet 🙏
I'm using HJC Rph90 it's good on Suzuki (small fly screen) and BMW R1200RT at most legal speeds 😈😈🙄🙄

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

The original motea handlebar fairing put the airflow directly at my throat, this custom screen definitely puts airflow higher

FYI - screens are for poofs & totally unneeded unless running in triple figures (mph) for hours on end.

I've spent the weekend at my mum's, I went on my 14. Been a while since I've done a 5hr ride on it (I went the nice* way Lincoln, Sleaford, Gartside cafe, Kings Lynn, Thetford, Sudbury, Colchester, Clacton - rather than A1, A14, M11, A120, A12). I'd forgot what an all day comfy bike it really is when running well & it really is still riding as well as ever.

51mpg too, can't grumble at that. Probably due to all the average speed cameras so I'm going slightly slower than my normal pace for large parts of the trip.

I removed my oil cooler cover to clean it and got a real good cut off the inside of it, so I filed all the edges down on the inside to avoid it happening again. It was obviously pressed out on a machine, and cleaning the job up was not part of the factory's remit. I suppose this comes down to cost in the end. So watch out guys these things are sharp on the inside..

Snap, have done the same in the past, one of those really fine paper cut slices!

Mine is sharp at the top where I cut a bit out to fit around the larger bracket on the replacement oil cooler (Aaron rads I think) I've got fitted.

My Hornet has had a faulty neutral light for the last week or two, hardly a major issue except that when it's not working the damn thing cuts out if you put the stand down. Which is annoying at times.

Anyway I poked it with some spanners this evening & it was just a dodgy connection where the wire clips on the switch. All sorted for free & a test run to the pub for a bike night/quiz proved it's behaving. We lost the quiz by one point though - who knew the little bits of paper a hole punch punches out are called chads?

Today finally did a lot of work on the bikes
R/w fixed the front brake light switch (well replaced it) refitted the spring on the rear Sunday so now it's 100%sorted after the crash.
The b/w is now 90% done after bleeding thr rear brake&clutch now just need front brakes bleeding and a few bits tidying up and it'll be ready for its first mot in 5 years .
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Although my bike goes well, as I have owned a few 14's I have always felt that the 2001 B&W is just not quite 100%. About the only thing I haven't changed is the actual throttle bodies although Injectors have been out to be serviced, bodies balanced new TPS & STPS, cold start fine tuned & even after being on the dyno for a custom map I still wasn't happy

I bought a set of second hand throttle bodies off Ebay several months ago & decided to fit them on Tuesday evening but didn't quite finish the job needing to check the TPS & STPS were within spec, as I was feeling like crap (now known to be Covid!) so today although still feeling like crap I finished the job & got a start out of the bike, started first push of the button from cold & the cold start operated perfectly. I then decided to swap the fuel rail for the original K2 along with my original injectors as they have not long been serviced, balanced the throttle bodies, rechecked the TPS & STPS started up an the bike seems so much smoother at idle now the difference is almost night and day - problem solved I hope, fingers crossed all is good from cold tomorrow

While I was at it and had the bits I decided to do a quick oil change, removed the sump plug and noticed a big blob of what I first thought was metal shards stuck to the inside of the sump plug, panic for a moment or two thinking I have a problem developing, turns out it is the magnetic nipple on the sump plug that had broken off, pretty lucky I would say not to have done any damage. New Oil & Filter, bike started with oil pressure light going off straight away & idling away nicely

Cheers, Pete

Good luck with the MOT. It used to be a bigger event when we used to get a posh embossed MOT certificate each year a different colour, a plain piece of A4 paper just not the same

Glad they don't have that for motorcycles here in the Netherlands ( yet ).
