Chris
Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Kiwifruit

Rust never sleeps !!
If you can see pinholes they have friends just below the surface you cannot see yet.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

@Yetiman , what size Delkevic can is that?  I have a 30cm on my Black K6 & it's way bigger than that, is yours 20cm?
Yeah Col it's the 20cm with baffle It's loud but not that bad IMO..

Mate had his tank welded yrs ago, first model 14, it leaked again. New tank. Expensive, 2nd hand rare, how do know not rusty. Feel for you Mate, certainly adds up the rebuild cost. 🤞🏻someone knows a good used unit.

After a month of waiting, forks and triple clamps finally came home from anodizing and painting :smitten:
Still waiting for passenger footrests and grab rail
Looks great, can I ask what forks are they and how does it ride compared  to  stock?

Looks good Mladen, nothing beats Blue and Black

After the rust removal treatment  there are lots of pinholes in the tank.
So, my question is, should I get it welded for £120  or buy a new one for £799?

What Kiwi says, rust always comes back. After welding it will leak again.

Mate, I'm sure you'd be able to find a decent second hand tank at a wrecker/ breaker. $1500 for a new tank is a bit steep. Like others said, I would not waste money on repair
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Notty

Went to clean the salt off the bike from a ride yesterday and fork seal leaking - bugger . Not a job I can tackle so looking for a firm nearby, will have to be a drive in job  :bugga:
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

A job I've got to do Notty, this time I'll be using genuine Suzuki seals not crappy All Balls which haven't seemed to have lasted five minutes  :furious:

Nic

Did my fork seals 3 years ago, still holding up, pretty sure they were all balls.

Hooli

She's home!

The battery is totally dead, so I put a jump pack on her & she fired up like she'd been used yesterday. Before the smart arse comments, I don't think the scum who took her have ever got her running. I knew when she went she had a full tank & a bit over two hundred miles to go for 168k. She's come back with a full tank and a bit over two hundred miles to go for 168k.

I found the third key I'd forgot to send to the insurance company, well they asked for both keys & got two keys... All my stuff is still under the seat.

The damned salvage place has done nearly as much damage as the theft. Since the collection pics they sent me, the exhaust has a massive dent in it & there's fresh damage on the tank. I'll have to chase up about that when I ask about the claim for the damages from the theft. As I've got it back the total loss will be cancelled & they can pay for the repairs.

Damage from the theft is ignition lock and barrel, petrol cap lock where they've tried to open it, mounting holes for the ignition stripped out, corners of the oiler broken where they ripped the number plate off and that's about it!

BbigMmac

Still think it's a miracle you got it back. Chance you get a stolen bike back is close to 0. Lucky man!

Hooli

Yeah I'm utterly amazed to have got her back too, it's totally unlike me to be unnaturally lucky.
