It is a sad story, English bloke came to Scotland west coast, started a small shop, 2008 recession started and banks  closed him down, he went back south and didn't come back, I had k own of this bike for 2 years and eventually managed to contact him and bought it for £200, I dread to think how much its cost me but I e made over 60 Ebay purchases alone (she  counted them) but it will be worth it.

DP1400

Wow, that IS  a sad story. I suppose the guy didn`t have the means to move both bikes at the time. Even more reason to get her up and running again :onya:

Reminds me of a real situation of an old mate of mine - lived alone, house in Milton Keynes, then moved with his job to Southampton. Still owns the property in MK but hasn`t been back for years......his garage contains his Yamaha collection: x2 RD500`s; x3 RD400`s and a couple of RD250`s for good measure. All were minters. All will now have a certain patina..... :bugga:

I suppose I should update this, bike is running but I've no pics on my tablet, I runs pretty badly and cuts out shen you leave it running on its own, cuts out dead, no spluttering just nothing,, I've replaced all coils, plug leads, 8 spark plugs all NGK, injectors were sent away and cleaned tested and found to be perfect, kinda stumped for now

Have you tried actually plugging in a PowerCommander and adding a map as I said the other day you've tried everything else and they never run properly with out a map when running an open exhaust system.

I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Vacuum pipes and/or map sensor would be my first thought for poor running at idle.

I've seen several that have all kinds of problems due to not having a powercommander after fitting a full flowing exhaust system.
I have maps that would be helpful if you want to swap over and try as you've done everything else it'd be doing it as a check .

Looks like it's been used as an anchor!

T250

Wow! How did I miss this one?
Looks like your making good progress, got to keep them on the road :onya:

GSXKING

Mine had full Yoshi system from new. Still has centre stand. No PC, we used Suzuki tune box to turn everything to maximum. I now have Pipemasters stainless muffler (more back pressure). Still runs great after 24 years of ownership 👍👍
GSXKING 3:^)

No power commander is fine as long as there is some kind is fueling correction as its needed.

Depends on the age of the 14 too. K2-K4 run rich as standard so are happier to run Akras etc without correction than K5 onwards.
