so it's a tax on the poor. If you're billy big pockets with a shiny new bike, happy days, otherwise get the bus dirtball. They said on the news tonight that a diesel car produces 30 times more pollution that the petrol equivalent, i remember when everyone was being encouraged to buy diesels! i have never been so exasperated with the world as i am atm.

I was reading all this and have just checked my 04 reg, and the log book does show 0.140 co, ...never looked before/did not need to ,once had a 1.3 diesel corsa, ex forces log book not showing co readings, main garage said should be £30 road tax. DVLA charged full. had to pay £95 for certificate of conformaty. ended up paying £120 road tax....lol

I put my 2003 gsx1400 reg into the ulez government checker and it failed, put my 2.5 litre v6 2001 mitsubishi car in and it passed!!! what a nonsense.

Notty

I put my 2013 VW Tiguan TDI 177 bhp in and it fails  !! no way I will be driving there anyway  :) But they are going to introduce the same thing here in Cardiff but being over 60 we get free bus pass so never take the car into city centre - have ridden the 14 in because we can use the bus lanes  :)
The older I get the better I was

Hi Turner,

Does the log book show a NOx level of 0.14? The magic number to get to is 0.15 or below.

If it is 0.14, would you be able to post up your log book details (minus sensitive info) so I can share this with Suzuki to see if they can produce a CoC to 0.14.

TIA

Hi Mikey, did u get any further with this? Did Suzuki manage to give u a cert with NOx emission?

Need to do this for my 2005 K5 GSX1400.. so cheesed off with this flippin ULEZ money making pallava!

Thanks in advance!

bladey

Aaah, just checked my V5 logbook and it shows 0.15 g/km for the NOx. Assuming this good enough to present to TFL? Or have some still had to get a CoC from Suzuki?

Thanks in advance guys!

Ignore, just looked at TFL website..fookers want me to part with £95 to get a CoC as part of V5C admission... Grrr!

so how does paying 95 quid suddenly make your bike environmentally better? Surely this is just revenue raising and nothing to do with reducing emissions.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Absolutely correct, it's just a money making scheme and the worst of it is they're slowly wanting to bring this rule out to the rest of the UK.. Just a bloody scam. I'm lucky mine is a K5, anyone pre this date is gona have a headache, even tho I don't think there's any, IF any difference in the engine from 2001. There are cars that are worse in polluting the environment but are later in build date. Absolute nonsense!!!
