Not sure if anyone has seen this on FB so I thought I'd take the plunge.

It would be lovely if Sheff could join in here as his input is and has been invaluable. I may have put my foot in it and maybe I'm outta line but to me.. right right

From FB today ...

Just to let everyone know, I have messaged Synk this morning, to say that I quit my position in the org.
The last I heard from him was on 23rd Jan after I asked him to answer the issues being raised on the org, particularly regarding the lack of acknowledgement to donations. He said he would, he didn't.
Since the site went down I have heard nothing from Synk, despite several attempts to contact him.
I have been a member of the org for 14 years now, 8 or so of those years as an admin/rally organiser. During this time I have made some life long friendships. You know who you are & I will keep in touch.
This years camping weekend will still go ahead on the weekend of 28th -30th July at Sykehouse. Any monies raised during this weekend will go to charity. Hope to see you all there.

Regards

Sheff....

Wow. At least he got that out off the way.

I wish Sheff the best, and thank you for your efforts the past years. :hat:

I do hope he finds his way here. I can only imagine how he feels after the years of service he has put in.
I happen to know there will always be a desk here at the new .org office for him..
So if i do stuff all all day and noone sees me do it.. Am i still a lazy git?

It doesn't surprise me, in fact I think it is testament to Sheff that he carried on with the role as long as he did given the (lack of) support from Synk. I also think it absolutely disgraceful, that even though Synk has been aware the org is down (and before Seth contacted him he knew, he just chose to ignore), he could not keep in contact with Sheff as the other admin/moderator or even have the respect to answer the mails / texts etc that Sheff sent (given that even after he did reply to Seth's text earlier last week about getting it back online - nothing. Well no surprise there  :jack:)

I know from speaking with Sheff last week myself, that the org and lack of support (amongst otherthings) was getting him down. Totally understandable.

A BIG THANKS to Sheff for all that he did on the org and for the terrific way he managed and ran the MCR's in the UK - its good to know that it will be running this year, although a shame that in all likelihood this will be the last (given the big man himself has stood down)

Thanks Sheff  :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

(I think this thread should be renamed "Thanks Sheff" so we can gather the plaudits in one place)
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Hopefully someone on here high up in the admin side of things might pop Sheff a hello and offer some form of branch to help out.. even if he says no it might mean the world to him
He's invested so much time effort and goodwill for years I bet it's so hard for him to have no involvement at all in one fell swoop.
He has so much to offer....

We have already previously made the offer to Sheff to join here either just as a member or as a moderator, he hasn't said no, but he hasn't joined either. From my conversation with him, he wanted a break from all of it

Having mentioned this to Sheff and saying I hope he finds his way here... he unfortunately said he won't

The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

never say never  :onya:
sheff is feeling very raw just now
give him time and let him do his thing as and when he wants

I'd hope he'll get a fantastic welcome when one day the time is right and he comes to find us all.

Absolutely agree Seth. The guy needs time and space away from "everything 14". Perhaps in time.....when he is ready......he will find his way here.
