Well time to try new tyres
For years I've been going on about Pirelli Angel st's and then Pirelli Angel gt's.
Well tomorrow I'm going for something new !
Pirelli Angel gt2's
I know another evolution of what I've had but the place I get my tyres from got a wrong price list and as a long time customer getting a pair fitted for £242 and as I need tyres I thought why not.

I know others like different modern tyres and I'm sure they are just as good and last about the same mileages but I've been a fan of what I like and haven't changed just in case.
Guess that's why I've only had gsx1400's for the last 17 years.

I'll report back on how I get on with the gt2's

Seth, cant wait for your review. Hard to improve perfect. Best tyres GT ive used.

The tyres are for my b/w bike that's currently getting rebuilt but I'm putting them on the r/b bike to scrub them in this weekend and will fit to the other bike once it's finished.
I have a couple of hundred miles to do so will get a good feeling from them over that run.

I'm sure the latest tyres from others are a match but I like what I like .

Fitted the Pirelli Angel gt2's on Friday morning and went to a rally 100 miles away .
A warm dry day (17°c in February)
They felt great as the bike always does with brand new tyres on .
Coming home today not so warm and damp/foggy in places still felt good and planted .
I think any new modern tyres would be much the same but these are what I have for this year.
Note they have changed/modified the tread pattern .

Sides look the same as before.
Sorry I have to ask "A" spec or "B".

seth

@Irish in Oz
I don't know what you mean by A spec or B spec
These are the new gt2's
The tread pattern are the evolution of the gt's which are an evolution of the st's.
I was told the latest tread pattern is very simular to moto2 wet tyres from a few years ago by the tyre guy .
I've been using the same guy for 30years .

On the Pirelli site there are GT 2 available in two types:
190/50 ZR 17 M/C (73W) TL
190/50 ZR 17 M/C (73W) TL (A)
Also for other profiles.
I have been using GT for a while now, previously ST. I have smashed a couple of rims but not since using GT (A).
They are stamped on side wall with A in a circle.

Received a confirmation email from Pirelli UK that GT 2 are available in two types for various models.

A dumb question i already know answer to. I changed my front Angel 4 th k ago. My rear is still looking good at 22. I have no idea why its lasted this long, just has. I cant believe it really. Over 10 th ks more than any other tyre  ive had. Should i fit new Angel 2 or just another Angel first model to rear. Mixing types, not a good idea?  Irish, A spec and normal are same price. I will email Pirelli for there thoughts. At those large ks, rear tyre is just as good as it ever was. When i used Michys, a different story, twitchy towards the end.

I would be sticking with the original GT after all do you really need a wet weather moto GP pattern tyre.
Wish I could get 22k.
BTW on the email the heading was Pirelli  Metzeller, previous to St's I used Metzeller M.
I had Michelin's on the FJR but changed to Angel's and preferred them on that bike.
