I've got the bike in bits at the moment and am getting some parts off for pwder coating. I've pressed the rubber bushes out of the top yoke. This is the bush that the handlebar mounts go thru.
Unfortunatley they were damaged on the way out and both Robinsons and Fowlers are saying that they are not available to buy seperatley.
Has anyone come across this and how did you get around it?
Cheers

Hi, did you get a solution for this ? I'm in a similar position

Hooli

Looking at the parts diagrams they aren't listed separately. You'd have to know the dimensions & start searching from other sources.

I looked into this a while back and came up empty handed. I ended up having the yokes wet blasted and painted with the rubbers left in.

If I ever go down the same road again I'll probably press them out and machine some alloy slugs to replace them with. It's a smooth enough machine to not really need them.

Hooli

There's lots of companies on google that go 'metaltasic bushes' this is just the first hit. I'd suggest some careful measuring & seeing what you can make work.

An option here could be source some Delrin, you can buy it in round bar stock and lots of other std shapes off Ebay. Its easily machineable and stable.  Will be stiffer than oem rubber bushes, but better than a direct metal to metal connection.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

No guarantees from me but it can't hurt to give them a call and check.

Lots of similar bikes are fine without.

I'd be getting something machined up, alloy, hard nylon, whatever someone machining it preferred to use.

I doubt I'd notice if the bars were solidly mounted on a smooth inline 4 as most of mine are.

I just googled that number as I thought I knew it, it's my local parts place   https://awmotorcycleparts.co.uk/

Agreed on ringing them, a lot of stuff they do never gets on the website.

Andre

In case I ever need it, lots of options to consider. Thanks all.

Pretty sure that's the greyish insert that sandwiches between the stock risers and top yoke. I may have misunderstood but I thought what was being asked about here was the bushes within the top yoke itself?
