Question gents. Im fanatical about my tyre pressures, i guess a lot of us are. Spotted these pressure monitor caps, just load info onto phone. Seems a great idea to me. My question, these caps obviously push down on valve to get info. They then become the tyre valve. Would you blokes trust these instead of normal old Schrader valve. This way seems easier to check pressure, of course it is, valves pushed down worries me. Use them or stick with old skool? Your thoughts, dangerous is my real query. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TPMS-Motorcycle-Tire-Pressure-Monitor-System-2-Tyre-Sensors/153178874486?hash=item23aa2c2276:g:q6oAAOSw1lxbmjMZ:rk:36:pf:0

Andre

There have been cases where these caused broken valve stems (rubber) at high speed due to their weight at high speed (centrifugal effect).

I'm fairly sure you have to remove these caps to inflate, so there's no way out for the air.  Not used them myself, but heard they're good.  Battery life might be stretching it a bit.

Grog - I have a Steelmate TPMS system on mine with very similar caps. Works well and very effective. However, the weight of the caps with rubber tyre valves is not recommended, as at speed they can cause rubber valves to split. If you wish to fit them, then you would need to fit metal valves in your wheels first. After that no problems, had them on mine now for over 8k miles, and very impressed how they work.

Battery life is excellent, had them on for 2.5 years and only recently changed the batteries "just in case" they were going flat.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Thanks fellas, will get steel valves before i use. Not sure if anyone remembers, few years back i left right angle connector on all the time. Bad mistake. One morning rubber valve split at 110 ks, man that was a scary slow down, still dont know how i stayed on the big girl. All pressure lost in seconds, now im very wary. Scared shitless is proper description. Thanks.

Maybe try them on a ride on mower first.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
