for years ive cleaned my wheels with Mr.Sheen. spray on rag, wipe over. always perfect. got talked into motorcycle specific wheel cleaner, got good reviews. i bought some. spray on, leave a few minutes, hose off. sounded a good idea. i did that. yeah, rims look good, very easy. problem is that some must have got on brake rotors, it flys everywhere. front brakes have come good but rear is now about 1/2 as good as it was previously. im sure with use it will return to normal. wont ever use again, back to old skool way. terrible product, keep away.

I always use lamp oil for the rear wheel. Doesn't cost much and isn't agressive on the paint. Chain grease comes off with no problems. Also clean the rear sprocket with it in no time.

I swear by Mr Sheen. Spray on. Leave to do its business. Wipe off. £1-00 from local ASDA. Result.  :notworthy:

I give the rear wheel a light spray of WD40, wipe it down and then hit it with Mr Sheen to get a good finish.
May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.

Same Batty but l spray the WD40 onto a rag.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I use GT85 or  white spirit on a rag..
That cleans off chain grease very well and isnt nasty to paint work.

Same here. WD40 then Mr Sheen.

And if you use Wurth dry chain lube. Clean chain first. Apply. You should have a splatter free white wheel too. So, no removing oil chemicals. Just Mr Sheen to remove road dust.

I've always just used wd40 but on reading these posts think I'll give Mr Sheen a try as well as :)

My back wheel gets cleaned with paraffin, along with the chain, rear sprocket & that side of the bike where it all gets flung. Before anyone asks, it's done at least twice a year!

Cynics, you wouldn't know but they get dirty in use.

Because it's had that stealth layer covering for most of it's life, the paint underneath would still be in good nick?  If you ever remove the stealth coating to take a peek that is . . .

TBH no the wheels are fucked, one of the many reasons I don't remove the coating very often.
