Julie Bishop was  a full partner in the legal firm Robinson Cox.

In the late 1980s, Robinson Cox was hired by CSR Limited to defend against compensation claims brought by asbestos mining workers, who had contracted mesothelioma while working for Midalco, a subsidiary of CSR. Bishop was part of the team assigned to the case, which developed an argument that a company was not legally responsible for the actions of its subsidiaries. The Supreme Court of Western Australia eventually decided to pierce the corporate veil and hold CSR liable for Midalco's actions; the lead litigant died before the conclusion of the case, which lasted eight months.[9] After becoming a public figure, Bishop was accused by opponents of acting immorally by involving herself in the case. She has said she conducted herself ethically and professionally,[8] and in accordance with procedural advice given by barristers Robert French and David Malcolm (both future judges).[10]

That's a PC way of putting it.

In practice, she developed the tactic of stretching these cases out as long as possible in the hope/expectation that the litigants would die prior to a decision being reached.  Scum.

Bishop's partner since 2014 has been David Panton, a winemaker and property developer.[67] She has attracted criticism for using over $32,000 for family travel for Panton since 2015, but for not including him on her register of parliamentary interests. Bishop has stated that Panton is neither her husband nor her de facto partner, as they do not live together, and thus not including him on interests register is within the rules.[68]

She was working for the defence. Her job was a stall and stop and payouts. She wasn't paid to be fair or nice. You pay a defence Lawyer for the very best result in your favour. She appeared to be quite good at it.

Labor has described Morrison as "Malcolm Turnbull in a cheaper suit".

Might have hit the nail on the head with that - it's certainly the way he's behaved in the past.  He'll have to shift a bit though if he's to appease the Dutton supporters.

I don't like Turnbull* but I think this whole exercise has done nothing other than weaken the Coalition's election prospects.

Can you actually give us three politicians who are decent -from anywhere in the world.?

Billy Conelly (Scotish comedian ) got it right when he said "anyone should be banned from being a Politician purely on the grounds that they wanted to be one in the first place"
