So ive dragged my woodmizer lt40 saw mill out and give it a good service and ive been snaffling bits of timber and tree trunks away all winter and summer , and have them all in nice flat locations were i can tow the mill to and get it set up nice and level  :boogie:

I'm very envious shanered6.  I'm looking at rural properties and something like that (and the skill to use it!) would be a blessing.

I hope you will update this thread.
It's quite interesting.

I enjoy anything to do with cutting trees. So I am looking forward to pics. A video would be fun

My favorite tool is the ax. Great exercise!

I have a peace of ash butt to mill first so when i do it i will get the wife to take pics and do a small video of the milling , Ive spent the last 10 years milling timber and before that about 20 years on the chainsaw as a timber faller amongst a variety of other jobs in-between .
I had to give up the milling buisness as my body was telling me ive had enough of this heavy work time for something a bit more sidate and less stressfull , but i kept a few things that would enable me to have a back up if i ever became unemployed or out of work .
So i have my woodmizer mill , post pointer , my old fordson major tractor and veriouse cradles and strapping equipment as well as all my blade sharpening and teeth setting machines , so im pretty well sorted  :boogie:

I've got a mate who is a carpenter by trade. He makes good money on the side selling Jarrah* slabs to the eastern states.

*Jarrah is hardwood native to the south west of Australia. Really good wood but don't ask me why, I'm more familiar with metal.
Always remember, safety third.
