Yep, a real good buy on that Tony!  I'm looking for a new one in NZ, can't seem to find the brand Grog talks about with the 300 - 350 cca.  I'd like one of those for sure.

Col, just looked at sending you dry cell Superstart. Not allowed on its own, must be installed in its device of use. Guess i can send you a 14 if you want, battery installed. WTF.

Hooli

Add a few wires, a bulb holder & a switch. It's then 'installed' in a workshop light.

I haven't bought anything for over 24 hours so got some small screwdriver bits, I'm sure I already have a few sets, probably several, but it can't hurt to have spares...
I like buying tools!

grog

Agree Tony, cant have too many. I have lots but always something else needed.

I've been in the same game for 42 years. If l havn't got the tools l need by now l probably don't need them.
.......except for a 36mm socket
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Del

4 new carb seals for the 1200 bandit as well as an alternator seal for the same ornament (should be a bike but refuses to run without pouring some liquid all over the garage floor) beginning to loath this bike with a passion

I've got a 36mm socket & always use an adjustable as it's easier to judge the torque.

Kiwifruit

Hooli thats the sad part......l have a torque wrench. :cry2:

Come on Col, splash out the $28 for a 36mm socket, you'll be able to put a pic of it up when ya get it!   :whistling: :happy1:

Sweaty

A car.
My daughter wrote her car off a week ago & had hired a car for 2 weeks to get to work & look for a new car. Long story short, I could tell she was going to rush in to buy a new (used) car (I was trying to guide her:)
So being, the wonderful dad that I am :) I decided to keep a look out myself for a good cheapy that I would buy, so she could use for as long as she likes, while she works out what she wants etc and then I will flog it off and get what ever I get back for it.
I'm doing this, because she is a great kid, who works full time & completing a uni degree & is already paying off a mortgage at 23 in Sydney with her fiance
:clapping:
Unbelievabley, I managed to get this 2004 Holden Astra TS auto (Opel for you Europeans) only 150,000 kms, with log books, service history & receipts, airbag, aircon, new tyres & in great condition (besides scratches on bumpers) which was running out of rego in 3 days for $600
And it just passed rego inspection today with flying colours, so now has 12 mths rego on it ($780) :onya:

grog

Sweaty, a good buy. Astras are a car that either a big prob or last forever. See it all the time. Who cares at price you paid.

Sweaty

Yeah Grog, I don't pariculary like them & did my research before going out to check it.
The main drama seems to be the camshaft belts which need replacing every 60,000 kms or so & the water pump.
To my surprise, this thing has been replaced for the second time along with the water pump right on schedule at 125,000kms, which at this price was a pleasant surprise.

grog

Sweaty, belts are easy to replace. Yours just done so all good. Water pump each belt change a good idea. Belt change time varies, some 40k, some 60, even some 120.

Sweaty

Spot on Grog. From what I read. Originally these belts were scheduled at 120k, then reduced to every 60k after a few snapped and caused major damage, then put back to 90k in the end.
