Just a bit higher me thinks
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Took the dog for a drive into town to get a sausage roll to share.
He was keen on the sausage roll, not so keen on the share part.

Bought a ute load of firewood / logs on the way home.
That'll be the last lot for this year.

Demand isn't dropping. Several new builds around me all have log burners.
Supply is sort of limited. Not really a shortage, but there's only ever going to be so much seasoned hardwood locally.

As the distance it needs to be moved, and the price of diesel and wages and running costs rise, I don't think it's going to get cheaper.

I might wait until the warmer weather and see if I can get a deal on a few loads.

What surprised me was, even with the previous old crap battery, when the Fergie didn't start I thought I'd try my little Kincrome jump pack. It burst into life!

Jump pack is pretty small but something crazy like 1200 CCA.
It frightened it into life!

"I have a 2.5ltr triple.
The compression is a bit higher*

I use a 750 CCA battery.

*Perkins AD3 Diesel.  :happy1: "

Is it sitting in a Massey 35 or a 135?
I'm a fan of old tractors and am currently restoring a 1952 TEA 20 that a mate has given me. "It overheated a bit and I think it needs a new thermostat" was somewhat optimistic.
Two pistons were seized and the block looked like sand rather than coolant was circulating through it. It's in a few bits at the moment!

My Dad had a Fergie grey petrol, 1952, Standard Vanguard motor. I replaced the clutch, so not easy, I often wondered how I did that. Bike clutches much easier😁

That's exactly what mine is Grog.
It's been fun buying tools I didn't own, to work on the old girl. My aim is to get her working sweet, but retain all the patina of almost 75 years...kind of a reliable, barn find.

Rob, old man's was a great workhorse. Their place had steep bits, grass mowing mainly, he fitted front rack with around 16-20 car batteries on it, kept the front down.He went places I wouldn't.

Not for the gsx but z1000sx,  Racetorx gearshift support, bolts either side of the gearshift and the shaft runs on needle bearings through it, stops any flex of the shaft. Quite cheap and apparently does make the shift more positive
Thankfully we all like different things, and I like a modded GSX1400

135.

Oldest of what I consider modern, the first of the more useable models.

Family have a huge amount of tractors, from Nuffield, Majors, Power Majors, TE's to 185's up to more modern stuff.

I'm a big fan of the 135's. So many still in use globaly today. Very popular with small holders and market gardners and hobby farmers.

Being able to buy not just fuel, air and oil filters off the shelf localy, but stuff like the dash, seats, steering wheel etc etc appeals to me.

I wouldn't mind adding a 185 to the shed. I'm a fan of them too, but in reality I really don't need one. It'd be a bit big for where I am and what I do, in the same way a TE20 wouldn't be ideal.  I think I found my happy spot with the 135.

There's a rough 185 (ex NZ Railways) on Trademe here (we don't have eBay). Starting price is 6k and it's a lot more tractor than I'd ever need!
I too think the 135 is the Fergie sweet spot. If I can get the TEA sorted, who knows...maybe I should keep an eye out for a non-running 135  :boogie:

Someone was telling me about his Rocket 111 a while back.

I said " 2.5 ltr? 3 cylinder? Lots of torque? Fat back tyre? Upright seating position?... I've got one of those!" and showed him a pic of my Fergie. He didn't seem amused. I do like Rocket 111's but you can't be too serious.

Now my wife no longer works Fridays, we wanted something different to our usual stuff we could do together.

So we pick a country pub, often ones we can sit outside with the dog, and do a Friday lunch.

As we eat early it's normally pretty quiet.

Today was our 6th "Pub Lunch Friday".

Some are better than others but no disasters yet !

It's taken us to a couple of places we hadn't been before.

Now we are on a quest to see how many different pubs we can do back to back. I have at least a dozen more within range.

Food looks good, all my favourites. Today I bought thermal printer, no more buying ink. My Chinese airhawk arrived, seems ok.Put it and gel together to try, looks stupid but if it helps the hips not caring. Will also try on its own tomorrow.
