Yeah, no more dogs for us. Misty was the dog to judge others by. Most amazing Bluey. Family always refer back to her. Her mother Bridie was made out of steel, tough girl. Misty just sort of sorted life, incredible dog.

I think its great to have dogs or any pets really, they can be the glue that holds things together...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Bought a generic baffle to fit my exhaust (Remus Revolution)as the original decided to self eject some time ago . The reason being ,M.O.T.is due soon and my examiner moaned it was a bit loud last time but passed it anyway, so I bought one to keep him and the bike quiet test day, just a few things to adjust , I.e chain and for some unknown reason rear  wheel alignment, it's out by some margin so that's got to be investigated, even though chain and sprockets line up.I have some ideas why, I'll keep you all posted , as for now it's off the road.

Those would affect the chain too so I'd guess wheel bearings. Or is is the swing arm bearings & the sprocket carrier bearing has gone as well could compensate.

B4 I buy, do these fit 14?

KiwiCol

Not according to AI they don't fit directly.

Annoyed, I rebuilt my 6 pots not that many ks ago. Everything was done to perfection. Today I find one piston sticking, not releasing.Ive pushed them all back in today, feels ok. If it does it again, diff calipers.Nissin seem to get the ticks. Have read about metal oxidising, stuffing up in Tokico. Nissin anodise their calipers and their base metal is superior. Now to see what Nissin fit a 14, help appreciated 😎

Correct.
I'm sat next to a 14 and an RF, 63mm and 90mm.

90 is a pretty common / standard size, several of my bikes run 90mm spacing. My GSXR, Gen-1 Busa, Bandit etc etc are all 90mm.

Watching this one with interest fellas, I'm think my 6pots are doing the same, rebuilt 3 weeks ago, not sticking yet, but the alloy of the calipers is showing its age.  Brembo upgrade? Maybe. Another idea but works take a fair bit of work is fitting a late model GSXR usd front end...

My early GSXR has a later upside down / 4 pot front end. It's works well, although it's lowered the bike a fraction, and has had a matching rear wheel.

I do keep a look out for modern front ends to upgrade bikes.

It can make a huge difference and have great benefits but as I'm sure you know it can also get a bit complicated.

Fork length.
Spring rate.
Steering lock.
Suitable yokes with the right stem.
Full lock stops.
Mounting bars / clocks / headlight / ignition switch.
Using the original wheel or a mismatched new one.
Radial brake front ends are far better but most are short and not cheap.

Probably quite a bit more that doesn't come to mind.

I have a spare early GSXR, a Bandit-1200 and an RF900 front end. None of them are great, but they suit a more retro styled bike like a Kat or ET / EX etc.

I'd love a B-King, Gen-2/3 radial front end, big and chunky, modern(ish) brakes but folk seem to want more money than I've paid for a bike !

I know that Ben always used either screw in extensions or step down top yokes to compensate for modern forks being shorter.

I switched to 4 pots from a SV1000 iirc, my 6 pots had been refurbished, everything was new but the 4 pots just seem to have more bite, don't look as blingy but definitely will be staying on.

Today was research day. Nissin calipers for 63mm spacing gsx1400, i gave up, no clear answers. Seems a few Tokico 4 pots around, used $150-170. Then overhaul, pads, seals, paint, hoping pistons ok, around $400, me doing the rebuild. Brembo kits available, was quoted $1200 plus freight. I thought all my 6 pot pistons moved back in easily, still look clean. Bad design, no dust boots as cars have. Then realised havent turned disc bobbins forever. Got stuck in and did them , boring job. Now hoping that was causing brake drag.

Eric GSX1400K3

Thx for the reminder Grog, must do brake bobbins too.

so is that a straight bolt on option then with 63mm mount spacing or does it need adaptor plates?
