Quote from: KiwiCol on Sunday, 05 October  2025, 09:53 AMA decent DR650 Tony, they're old school & bullet proof, take you anywhere you want to go & bring ya back.

I do like them, and won't rule one out, but a used one 4 or 5 years old is as expensive as a brand new lighter DRZ. I don't really need the extra performance where I go. The 650 is a better bike for some folk having an adventure but I don't need that.

Spoke to a neighbour today who I thought had a 400 but his son now has it so can't buy that one, and more importantly he won't sell me his 1999 first year Hayabusa.

KLX450 Kawasaki? Not a Suzi but looked a choice to me. At Beenleigh Tony, price negotiable. Add says like new, under 2th ks🤷

A DaytonaxRCM bar and end weights, domino Grips and a set of Hel Braided lines. Thinking of the Daytona seat if anyone has some input.

Uncle i know nothing about Daytona seat except looks good. Priced below $500 delivered, great price. Cheaper if you trawl the Jap shops selling it. Stock seat is terrible but you need to know if its quality and comfortable. Mine was remodelled locally and still looks like new 13 yrs later, super comfy.

Yea bud, hearing ya. From what I can see the Cozy's are used on the Ac Sanctuary builds (possibly with some additional stitching or markings for the RCM logo's. So I'm hoping they're not too bad quality wise. Yea the Japanese sites are fully the way to go. Got my bar in 4 days including the weekend. So I'm pretty happy with that.

Some new front rotors for the poor ole Black. Thought I'd fixed the pulsing through the front brake lever with the ultrasonic clean, but no, it's still there slightly. So I brought a runout dial, it arrived today, checked the discs, 1 fine the other way out, +.3 to -.65 so it's toast.  These rotors actually came off the Blue & the Blacks went onto the the Blue as they were good.

These new ones are finest Chinesium from AliExpress. $165 inc shipping & tax all up for a pair, that's about 90-100 quid for the UK mob, cheapest I could find.  I want them to work but as I don't hardly use it there's no point in spending big dollars on stuff ya don't use.  The Gold centre will go with the other gold bits on it too.  It'll be interesting to see how long they last with EBC HH pads on them . . .

Very fancy Col. Im an old skool for brake rotors, not the petal type.Just me. You might be surprised how good. Wifes car, choice of chinese or Aust rotors, chose Oz at 4x price. One was out by huge amount, wrecked a saturday, had to machine brand new disc. Reckon if id fitted chinese wouldve been ok.

Be interested in a report in due course Col. Thought I'd got mine acceptable with a dial gauge.... but they're not really.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Rotors look the same as mine and work really well, got the pads with mine and stopping is no problem at all, couple that with oberon slave and shifting is now a dream too.
Thankfully we all like different things, and I like a modded GSX1400

Col here's pics of mine they're S8 out of Melbourne on front and rear is from UK. Teamed with Ferodo sintered pads (donated by sponsor) and I've had HEL braided lines forever. Nothing Chinesium for me when I want reliable performance and the piece of mind.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

If mine was going to be ridden as a main bike, I'd agree with ya Chris, gotta have good brakes.  But this thing just sits in the shed & maybe gets a run out a few times a year for an hour, these Aliexpress ones will be fine for what I use it for.

Friday... new trail bike.
Saturday... ear piercing (had to take it out for previous job and hospital scans and it healed over)
Sunday... a Xmas cake, ginger beer and Pringles
Tomorrow im off to look for a table tennis / ping-pong set as my wife says she will thrash me at it.
I haven't finished the pen yet but I can see some Indian Runner Ducks in my future.
When my wallet recovers I'll be off to Cambodia.

I think I missed having a mid life crisis, so maybe I'm in denial at growing old, maybe into my 60's should I get a Nissan Mica and join the bowls club, I ran a timed 5k Saturday morning and my legs are still complaining ...  :rofl2:

Similar to you, I have no idea where mine came from, they weren't even new! I know they were second hand but were removed from a bike that was put back to stock. I'd normal walk away from second hand discs but these sit on spare wheels that only get used for emergencies, if I'm waiting to get tyres or for lazy long hauls. They work fine gripped by radial calipers and braided lines, the bike still outbrakes my 14 by a mile, it was just a pain to keep swapping thread locked discs over and I wasn't buying expensive ones to sit gathering dust 95% of the time.

I can always distract folk with my Chinese levers, welded up cast ally frame and a long list of other sins!  ;)

More plants, mostly trees and larger shrubs. Slowed down a bit with the planting as we haven't had much rain here. Just adding 3 or 4 a week at the moment. Think I'm up over 400 plants now, from 1.5m Grevillea to 30m gums.
