Being discharged this afternoon, a day short of two weeks out of my life.

How pleased to see the real world later on.
Couple of weeks off then ease myself into a more relaxed form of work.

Lots of bike bits to process in the coming days.
Cheers everyone !

Happy for you Chrisl!   I know it's necessary sometimes to be incarcerated there, but I personally can't stand being "locked in"   Been in a few times myself & it's always such a great feeling getting out.

1980's Katana fuel tank.
Tatty but useable, with fuel tap and gauge sender.
Seems solid, bit of repairable rust to one of the rear mounting holes. No key for the cap though (easy fix)

$20,    £10.

It was in a mountain of car parts, guy didn't know what it was for. Hours of walking around a huge swap meet.

No other treasures but still made it worth going.

Interesting morning. I did resist buying another bike that tempted me.

I was tempted by a GSX750.

The price was reasonable, but I went for a walk and gave it some thought, decided it was a 7 not 11, and I rarely use the one I've got, or work on the ones in bits. Still tempted though.

Had it been an 11 I'd probably have bought it, but then it probably wouldn't have been AU$5,500.

Couple of years back nearly bought similar. Only wanted $1500, huge oil leak, had just had service and rocker cover gasket, obviously fitted wrong. Thought about it also, why??  Didnt buy and a good decision.

Tried to buy a cart!  The sort that go's behind a horse.
Large twin axle thing, big wooden wheels, the shafts to put the horse between. It was the real deal and looked impressive, the sort of thing a brewery or farmer would have had. It was pretty much what I wanted to put in my front yard with some plants and landscaping... untill we got to the price.

$3,000 for garden art isn't for me !

3 grand sounds like a bargin mate, especially for something like that.  Reckon Mrs Nitrous would have given you heaps of points for a purchase like that.  :whatever:

Second thought: Oh cool. Maybe he gets a Belgian or similar horse too.

Third thought: NUTS

should have gotten a horse first, the cost of owning a horse would make the cost of the cart far more appealing, plus then you would not have put said cart before said horse
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Done the horse thing many years ago. Ex-Mrs was into horse riding and we had one at home, a Welsh Cob, I used to ride a bit but not seriously, I was a lot more serious about clay shooting at the time. Seen all the horses I ever need to. I was offered some cash to put a friends horses in my paddock but I have very little enthusiasm for having anything to do with horses again.
