When is the UK "riding season"?

All year for me, heated gloves and waistcoat  but i wont start a ride in the rain. todays ride was about 6deg and the roads were wet all day but no rain.

I usually put my bike back on the road around the middle of March ,the council have stopped the dreaded salt by then
I no longer ride in the winter because I hate the cold and damp ,must be getting old :shocked:Wait a minute I am old !!!!

yes i bike all year round to we do get a lot of wind and rain down here .

and with the sea salt as well it can be a bitch on the bike and -5 to 7 in ice patches is no fun when you have the beast we all ride

i do make sure i am well wrapped up going to work , look like a fat Eskimo on the bike lol 

but we also do get a fair amount of sun through the summer  so not all to bad and France is only hour away

Strictly April -Oct for me, to enjoy it the roads have to.be dry and salt free otherwise too much lime hardwork

Done all year round riding before I had a car. Not now.

Once council dump last load of salt on the roads. And it has rained to wash it off. 14 will come out. In other words March to early October. My 14 is just for a hobby. Nothing more.

Mine is daily transport and a hobby.   The Land Rover Defender hardly gets a run these days.

I can certainly understand wanting to avoid salt !!!!
