No not just in the UK......we keep allowing people in while spending nothing on infrastructure. Hospitals are overflowing, we have sod all coppers. We have vast health and safety legislation to protect us from ourselves yet more and more tourists are killing us because they get in their overseas owned rental company vehicles and drive head on into us. They bring no money to stay in a camp grounds so shit in the bush or on the side of the road as govt forgot to build loos in places people visit. Freedom camping they call it. The budget tourists will become the reason people stop visiting NZ. Road repairs on top of road repairs instead of proper resurfacing. I'm sure someone in govt owns the company that makes road cones and hi-viz vests. But not much work gets done on the roads.

It's an absolute fecking joke...

Before they throw that kind of money at the project, they need to do something really simple, like do a feasibility study.

Ask a sample audience if they actually want to speak-a-lingo, if they want to integrate.  Then judge what needs spending

I worked in leisure in the UK for 40 years. In the '90s I took a degree in leisure in MMU Whilst there I was with leisure people from all over. Two guys from Salford told us (in a marketing module) that when they did a leaflet for a new course or session, it went to their equal opportunity department to be translated into (if I remember correctly) 5 languages.

So the UK created an environment where needing to learn the language was unnecessary. Today, they are committing £millions to put it right.

I know live in France where I have learnt to speak French, no Molly cuddling foreigners,  to be in France, you have to speak the lingo.

We directly spend TENTH OF BILLIONS every year to help and "integrate" "refugees". Most who attend language classes drop out and only a handful seriously study the language. They don't have to as the gov and volunteers provide the translating for them. 

What they don't mention is what it costs us in additional police, judges and jail costs (if they even go to jail). Lots of other costs and problems too.

Not so much suffer, just go back from where they came from.     Another thing to consider, if truck loads of you proper English speaking peeps were to arrive in their home country, what would be on offer to you? Free language lessons?  Dole? Housing? Free School?

The government doesn't make the money, you working people do, the government just takes it & decides how best and what to spend it on. Their priorities would appear to be other people, not the people who actually made the money for them to spend in the first place.  Look after home first, get that right, then & only then, look at giving freebies to new arrivals.  As long as you keep providing, they will keep coming.
We're relatively lucky being tucked away at the bottom of the world, a lot harder to get to our wee islands.

The EU is petrified of the UK doing well outside of the EU (Brexit), in case several other member states also decide it was better as it was pre EU..
Its been watered down from what was voted for so that we are still slaves to the EU and the bureaucrats with many fingers in the EU Pie..
Self fulfilling prophecies will become a reality.. In other words the wimp politicians who don't support Brexit will keep casting doubt and scaremongering the populace..
My Dads generation would be turning in their graves at the lack of Backbone this country now displays.

On a related note..
Last week I had to travel on the M6 motorway on my way to Lichfield..
There were several lorries broken down which caused tail backs..
But get this.... There was a car that had broken down.. It had foreign number plates.. It was left with its hazard lights flashing in the middle lane of the M6 with no one in it!!
The guy hadn't even bothered to coast to a stop on the hard shoulder !!
Its not just the language that is different !!!!

Our new Prime Minister, Santa Ardern is busy showering her voters with money in the hope they will remember her name in 3 years time.
They are setting up a tax working group, what to "reduce taxes" you say.....errr NO !!
Today my neighbour is livid because her husband who works 50+ hours every week cannot afford to go to the dentist. While his brother who does not work at all has a great smile because of all his new taxpayer funded dentistry.
We should set up a sponsor a pothole movement Col........ there are plenty to choose from.
