Went to the MotoFest meeting at Hampton Downs today. About a 2 hour trip each way. Stopped in Matamata or Hobbiton to stock up on food for the day.
Met up with Dad and a few of the old mates from many years past.
Will put up some photos taken today. I cannot seem to be able to write between the photos. So you will have to figure it out.
A very excited Robbie Phillis gets a run in the Legends Group on a very quick, mint 79 TZ750. Not a big man but sporting the biggest of grins after that ride.
Aaron Slight, Randy Mamola and Steven Briggs astride the Britten
Aaron Slight, Steve Parrish, Groz.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Hobbiton must be a big place as you have a McDonalds !- in the Uk we used to be given city status if you had a cathedral - now its based on how many Greggs the bakers stores you have ! ( Greggs the bakers don't actually sell bread) seems to be one on every corner.
Your pics reminded me of Brokenwood mysteries cant wait for the next series - NZ seems a lovely place to live  :smile2:
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

Put the pics into your gallery. Then you are provided with a link for each pic which you copy into your post. Between the links goes your text.

Thanks Andre. Will give that a go.

Could be worse, could be based on charity shops  :happy1:  We would have more cities than anywhere else in the world but no towns, just cities and villages.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

The one with the beard ? got the music tracks for Christmas  ... so is what we see on the program realistic in term of NZ society?  :)

Robbie Phillis has always got a smile on his face but the TZ helped the mood even more judging by his FB comments.

Thanks to Al Wilton I've just had one of the best presents an almost 62 year old bloke could have in his lifetime that bought a tear to me eyes , to be able to do a few serious laps at 10,000 rpm on his horn 79 TZ750 around Hampton Downs with all me old mates from the good old days was just awesome, thank you so much Al for trusting me to give your pride n joy full gas .
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Awesome Pete I'd love to have a chance to do something like that on a TZ750, what an experience, good on you buddy
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

KiwiCol

Pete didn't ride it Dave, he was quoting from Al Wiltons facebook page.  Just left off the inverted commas.  well, that's as I figured it anyway.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Think you are right Col, seems I mis-read it.

Well - it WOULD have been awesome had Pete ridden it LOL............... :onya:

Robbie Phillis' son rode my friends MV in the supersport class last year. Winning the NZ Supersport TT at Hampton Downs. Robbie had a tear in his eye that day too. Usually everybody else has a tear in their eye. He is a very funny bloke.
Said to my mate as the Legends lined up on the grid. "Is this a parade or a race ?" Mate says."what do you think ?" He was right, that TZ sounded awesome. In the end they all crossed the line as a bunch. Nice to see the TZ stretch its legs.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
