Hardly read a book until I retired 2 years ago - now read around 2 a week mainly crime - my dad never read a book in his life but mum had a tree planted for him outside the local library ??? :)
The older I get the better I was

I have shelves full of books, and a kindle full (cloud full?) and audiobooks on 'audible'.
I have more than I will ever be able to read, yet I do buy more, and do re-read those from time to time. (I've read the Odyssey and the Iliad more times than I can count).

My favourite fiction author is Clive Cussler, by a long shot.

I mostly read non-fiction though, with a special interest in historical ships and aircraft, and (for some reason) the Falklands War.

Not that my interest in books stops me from watching endless documentaries on Netflix and youtube - often ancient history ones.  There also seem to be more than a  a couple of documentaries about the Nazis...

Perhaps so one day people can make that tree into a book ?  :lol:

Read a few books 're the Falklands, can't remember the name of one that was excellent (Big Green Life Machine?) About the field hospital that had the incredible record of "if they came in alive, they left alive"
If you are going to run out of fuel, do it in your garage.

It's only a short walk to the kettle.
