Hi All,
I'm having a bit of a mare with various bits, the latest is around getting the rear wheel back on, the coaters put a new bearing in and I can't get the spindle past it even when just on a bench so offered up to the bike whilst balancing the spacers I've got no chance!

Where the spindle tapers of it's hitting the lip of the bearing, I've given it a good old whack with my top lad (hammer) but no joy!

Any help much appreciated as always  :notworthy:

Wrong bearings? Check the numbers on the bearings.

Hi Seth,
I didnt try going the full way through from the other side but I did get past the bearing from the wrong side

If they installed them correctly you can see the numbers on them. Or measure the inside diameter (28mm).
60/28-2RS/C3 these are the numbers on mine. The 60/28 has to be on there, the other stuff can be different. Actual dimensions are 28x52x12mm.

If they are correct size then maybe the bearing lip is damaged. Take a finger to it and feel.

Have they installed it crooked (not all the way in and slanted)?

Red...
After I had my wheels powder coated I took a full set of Koyo bearings to the "experts" they installed 1 of the front bearings in the rear and one of the rear in the front..
In then end, after buying ANOTHER set of Koyo bearings I installed the new ones myself.
I am betting the same mistake has been made with yours..
I got the front wheel on fine as one of the bearings was too large an internal diameter.
The rear I got the axle through the 1st bearing but not the sprocket side..

Don't need number to see that this is wrong.  If this is an original rear wheel you got the wrong part(s) in it! You got a dust seal in there where no dust seal is supposed to go. Only dust seal on the rear goes on the sprocket carrier. Looks like you went to the same "experts" as Simon. Bearing is probably front wheel too.

I agree Andre..
Looks like its too small an inner diameter to me.
I.E Front wheel bearing in the rear..
Red....
If you can be bothered see if the front axle just happens to fit perfectly in that rear bearing.!!!
And as Andre says they put the extra seal in where it shouldnt.
Caused my wheel spacer to bind on the seal badly, making a lot of redistance when I tried to turn the wheel with the bike on the centre stand.

seth

The seal shouldn't be there on that side or the other side
Only seal is on the sprocket carrier
Sorry i was to busy looking at the spacer to realise there was a bearing fitted .
Yes also check they didnt fit 1 wrong bearing ie a front in the rear using the axle and if only 1 set of bearings were ordered check the front just to double check the correct ones are in there .

Thanks all, plan is to call the Coater guy and ask the question, the front seemed ok when I fitted, it does spin but not what you'd call 'freely'

Appreciate all the expert diagnosis 👍
