Both my brother's and mine cracked under the rear fender so I think that would be the sub frame as supporting the rear rack. Mind you, WE gave them a good thrashing so lucky to get away with just that. On the Continental Divide Ride - 4000 km in the dirt over 17 days - I was on a DR650. That was a good bike and the only thing I damaged on it was the chain roller. Snapped it off on a big woopie at speed. So glad it didn't get sucked into the forward sprocket. The 400s as pretty tall bike, even for me at 5'10" which is why I liked the 650. It had a lowered Sargent seat. Both good bikes but my dirt days are over. All the off-road riding years on IT 200 Motocross, old Suzuki 400 and the DRs was a blast but coming off now hurts. My riding buddies (and I) have gone soft and now have sided by side four wheeled razors etc - full of snot, just hang on tight! We are off to the Moab in March!! Even contemplating selling the R1200GS as haven't done any off-road for a couple of years now. I'm shipping one on my 1400s to Vancouver this year so may just end up road riding from now on. Approaching 70 so the joints are now not as flexible ........as much as I try but the broken bones and sprains catch up!!

Thanks for your input @Globalrider  :onya:

You're not kidding when you say it's a very high bike. My KTM Duke II was tall, but the DRZ is REALLY bloody tall..Not easy to get on it with my new hip!!
I fancy fitting SM wheels anyway, which will drop it a bit :onya:

Notty would love it!  Build a wee podium just to get on it, then DON'T STOP NOTTY! till you get back to where you started. Don't go through traffic lights or need gas, certainly don't drop it.  :rofl3:
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Ha Ha - actually popping to see Steve tomorrow so will take some ladders and take a pic of me on it  :smile2:
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

KiwiCol

Good on ya Notty!  Take one standing beside it too - with you in the front, don't want the bike obscuring you altogether.   Just watch Froudy doesn't 'attack' you with Jim Beam whilst you're there.

Yes, I hadn't thought that through very well had I.  Best you stand facing the bike, so we get the back view, don't want to go busting the camera now do we. . .
