I took care of a cat that needed insulin. She was pretty good about getting the shots. After she died the owner got a new one which also needed insulin. Apparently certain breeds are prone to diabetes. Don't know the breed but they were white fluffy ones.

Do you have to inject your cat ?

Yep, twice a day, doesn't bother him at all.  He's a mackerel tabby maine coon.
