My K2 retained the centre stand when I fitted the Yoshi system without any modifications. The K7 centre stand mount is slightly different so a Yoshi may not fit although it's worth a try. I'm sure someone on the old org had an Akropovic system and centre stand combination.

You are right Pete, they did and it was "Malc" - he custom made a centre stand to fit out of box section steel.

centrestand never worried my foot, no toes on pegs for me. they are footpegs not toe pegs. yes, few scrapes on boots, nothing to worry me. guess i corner slower than you blokes. were all different, makes this forum what it is. all good.

Couple of questions for all the tipy toe riders! don't you get cramp in your calves?
And Unless you are wearing AliBarba style footwear how do you change gear? Or probably more importantly jump on the brake!!😀

My feet move around to keep comfy but when trying to corner quick (I can't compared to a lot on here & the old org) I move them back as I don't like my toes dragging.

Gears/brakes I know when I'll need them so it's no issue. With sudden braking you want a smooth build up of pressure anyway and start with the front to settle the bike so no issue there either.

Lol Red..

Kiwifruit

Without the balls of my feet on the pegs, the rubbery strappy bit between my toes chafed me if my jandals touch the road.

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Take 'em off then Col! The bike is a naked so why not feet too ?
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

To be fair,by way of relief I drop my feet forward so my heel catches on the foot peg. Or even rest the top of my boot on the foot peg and lean forward as This seems to let the blood flow through again And you feel a bit like Superman 👍

Hi Grog,

You could always change out your headers for single skinned headers Delkevic or Black Widow, it will free the engine up a bit and you can keep your centre stand.

Cheers,
Rick

Hi Rick,
Whilst you are on!  Do you have to change the collector as well to get the benefit?

Thanks in Advance

I'll answer on that one Nigel in case Rick has logged off. No, as there are no restrictions in the collector(s) either the single exit or twin exit. On the single can models, the restrictor was always in the (standard) link pipe.

So you could fit Black Widow headers and get the benefit. A mod like that would gain you an extra 5bhp or so roughly, but you may need to get your 14 re-dyno'd if you have a Power Commander, as it would run a little weaker due to the slightly larger internal bore

Hi Dave,
Thanks for chipping in  :onya:
Good news for me as 4-1 collectors are about as prevelent as freinds of Grace Mugabe at the moment!!

I have a PCIII sitting around but didn't figure it was worth fitting until I'd done the headers. As the upgrades are single skin I assume they'll get hotter than the oem's?  You probably know why I ask  :whistling:

Cheers
Nigel

Yep I sure do!!!

Yes they will get hotter Nigel, if left in stainless, then they brown off quite quickly the same as Akra headers - so not sure how a ceramic coating might get on - you'd probably know better than I.

You could always fit the stainless headers off a K5 -> instead, as whilst they are double skinned, they are slightly larger bore inside, so will release a few ponies, but not quite as much as the single skinned ones.

Thanks Dave, so as mine is K5 the upgrade to Black Widow is less of an impact?

Yes indeed. You might get 1-2 bhp more, but nothing much more as the standard stainless headers are only slightly smaller bore than the Black Widow ones. You get more of an impact if you have the earlier chrome headers, as they have less of an inner diameter than the later stainless ones.

So really Nigel, IMO, no real gain for the outlay in all honesty if you have stainless headers already
