Jail is inappropriate , driving ban is too short IMO. However, I was not in the court room, haven't seen all the evidence, don't know much about his priors. Apparently police followed him for 16 minutes. Why would they not stop this idiot earlier? Maybe because he was not directly endangering others? Don't know, wasn't there.

Seriously, the murderers and pedophiles get away way to easy, at least in my country.

Jail time is crap unless somebody is injured or dis-advantaged. We had an idiot Cop run a red light and kill a woman and walk free. Apparently If you have your disco lights on you don't need to show due care and attention.

Yesterday we had 5 kids who stole a car. Driver and one other were 15 the other 3 were 13.
They drove the stolen car up the wrong side of Aucklands  motorway, into 3 lanes of oncoming traffic. They should have been at school !!
Probably got smacked as a child so  raised in poverty......you know how it goes.
Bet they only get sent to youth aid.
Sorry for this but the truck that swerved to avoid them should have driven over them. Stops a lifelong career in crime and is an instant fix to re-offending.
