Dilemma

Hello,
I have a K2 in good condition 30k miles, etc, etc
I absolutely love it but where I live it's like a bird in a cage. Already I'm starting to ride beyond the limits of the road conditions here and that's only going to end in tears.
Once or twice a year we get off the island to some proper roads but then the missus finds it uncomfortable.
Soo looked at a same year XVS/Dragster 1100 today with only 10k miles. It's nice but not awesome like the 14.
Totally different style and difficult to ride at stupid speeds.
I can't decide what to do, any suggestions.?
When it comes down to it I can't behave on the 14. The cruiser option seems to be a solution but I don't know!

Ha ha, yes moving off Monkey Island would be great but I'm committed here for a few years yet.
The C90 could work too, but apart from a Sunday morning that means I'll never ride the 14 and that seems a waste.
The road licence goes up every year, cos it was imported after 2005 or whatever the cut off year and the insurance is crazy money because they have never insured a GSX1400 before.

I rode a XVS/Dragster 1100 for a few weeks and it destroyed my back - may have been me but would not buy another.  :thumbs_down:Then bought a Kawasaki Meanstreak 1600cruiser and that was really comfortable.

Hey Notty that's an interesting point, cos the guy with the DragStar has a Kawa Meanstreak, so maybe he came to the same conclusion.

Always regretted selling my 1st 14. Now, over 10 years later I have another one and loving it even more. I survived the years without one quite alright. There is a time and season for everything.

14's aren't THAT sporty and are quite happy when used as lazy bikes to cruise around on. If you can't do it on a 14 then I doubt a "cruiser" would be that different, other than having poor handling, less comfort and being less practical.
I use my 14 in city traffic and short distance commuting and its fine as is a Hayabusa.

Maybe its a rider issue not a bike issue ?

Turn it into a sidecar, more comfort for your wife & you can't ride it a stupid speeds anymore.  There ya go, sorted.

The roads on Malta are not what you are used to ride in the UK.

The roadsurface feels like it is made of 90% potholes and 10% emergency filler.

Sticky tires are the only options to keep it planted.

Well then, sounds like a scrambler would be the thing there then, or even a 'proper' dirt bike.  Only short roads, so can stand on pegs - don't need a comfy seat, knobbly tyres for grip in the pot hole riddled roads & long suspension travel to ease the jarring on back & knees.

A stealth 14?  Must be Red then, hell, it's even a black bike - so must be Red, would have been while he was on holiday in Vietnam or the likes aye.
