Keeping the bike in tip top condition is not easy, esp. if you are riding it a lot.  Adding polished stuff like this just adds to the pain .... just ask Barmy!

yes I like it but as you say its a pain when you use the bike all year round .. I have to wash mine every 5 days to keep the crud off

I don't think the alloy used these days is as good as it was
My old suzuki gs1000 had polished casings and were really easy to keep shinny
new modern casing seam to dull so quickly

yes ive got to agree on that one ,that is why ive gone for the chrome on the side casing. its so much cleaner to clean and wipes off easy

I went down the "mirror polish everything" route when I first built my Bandit..
It looks great but it's a pain in the arse keeping it looking good. I ended up spending more time polishing than riding it.

When the bike got smashed and I rebuilt it, most of it went satin black..Far easier to maintain.
As I ride my GSX14 as a commuter bike..NOTHING is polished.
I'm waiting for someone to get back to me about a grab rail they are selling and I do fancy polishing it...Watch this space

If you are an occasional / fair weather rider, then mirror polishing is great and fairly straight forward to keep clean. For any other sort of riding then it has to be powder coat.

I must admit to being wary of chromed aluminium cases - had a mate on a Hardly the other year (I'll speak to anyone me ) who had his casings chromed and 5 months later had to have his engine rebuilt. Why? Cos the chrome on the inside of the casing flaked off into his oil.....

Mothers Mag & Alloy polish is good for maintaining the shine for when you do polish casings etc

I love polished parts but have to admit keeping clean is a hate and love thing and if you do ride daily then I wouldn't go the polished route but does looks the dogs bollock. oh and there my parts of the old org thanks

Polished bits and daily riding are not a problem for me, my three weeks of winter rarely get lower than 10°C
Once the hard part is done a quick polish every month keeps it shiny

Err.....let me correct that. The bolts holding the screen on are now mirror polished. Old habits and all that
