What kind of top cases / racks you have on your bike? As 14 is such a beautiful bike I don't like putting Givi rack (the looong one) on it, instead I have seen racks that you can directly fix on the grab rail.

Share you photos of your bikes with various racks, if there are even that many available!

PS. i have the soft Givi side bags, but as it turns out they are not good when it is raining. You get mix of sand/water/whatever between the bike and bags and that mixture is great for grinding, for example...

The advantage (or disadvantage) of the Givi rack over the Renntec "grab rail" type rack is that it can take a heavier load (up to 10Kg excl any top box weight), also it does not need a top plate in order to fit a top box. The Renntec rack is only recommended for up to 6Kg incl any box weight. Now I know people exceed these weight recommendations, but I'm only stating what the manufacturers say.

So it really depends on what you want to carry on any rack you may fit....

I agree the Renntec ones look better, but the Givi one is more versatile IMO

Best side cases - I have the Givi E41 Keyless and they are absolutely brilliant. I'll post up pictures of them later when I'm on my OC and not on my iPad

Went around the South Island with the wife for a month in 2015. This is our rig.
Like Barmy says Givi E41 panniers are great.
Older Givi 46 litre topbox.
I rarely take the topbox off as its so handy.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Very strangly, my Rocket came with those instead of leather... Flipping wierd if you ask me... Leather to follow.
So if i do stuff all all day and noone sees me do it.. Am i still a lazy git?

Mine came with a mounting plate / box that just mounts to the grab rail.
I had doubts about its strength but I've never had any problems with when I've used it (not that often to be honest) but I think the last owner used it a bit.

Small flat plate mounts to the grab rail.
The mounting plate fits to that with 3 quick release clips.
The box locks to that with the key.

Haven't go many pics of it but..

... and just the plate with the adapter bit removed (takes seconds).

Nice looking bikes you got there. :smitten:

Thanks Barmy for info in regards loading capacity. I suppose I go with the Givi rack, seems more sturdy. To conclude all the parts I need (in case Givi) it would then be:

-Rack https://www.louis.eu/artikel/givi-monorack-topcase-carrier-fuer-suzuki-gsx-1400/10023575?filter_bike_id=1390&filter_article_number=10023572&list=344775085
-Mounting plate, which is sold separately. This you need to mount on the rack in order to mount the case, right? There are various one but would be the one I want then: https://www.louis.eu/artikel/monorack-fitting-plate/10023576?filter_article_number=10023577
-Case it self. Monokey is more of a real case where as monolock is more of a scooter model, according to interweb.  :coffeescreen: I guess it is matter of preference when it comes to case. Big enough to fit two helmet though.

Tony, do you have any idea of the maker for your grab rail type rack? Is it Renntec? Like the simplicity of that one. Also, can you fit only specific cases on it?

Haha - when we rode on the beach that was the first day on last year's Wild Atlantic Way - by the end of the week and 1500 miles later, it looked like the pictures below. It took me 10 days to strip it down and clean it, and polish every bit of alloy!!!

Looks much better like that Barmy :D

As for luggage, Givi E41s & a V46 topbox do everything I want. Watch the topbox though as eventually the point on the catch where it locks to the top plate breaks off & then the topbox will make a bid for freedom as you're riding down the road. I drilled two holes through it & bolted it to the rack, it doesn't go anywhere now. Another bonus of bolting it on, the box is now rock solid & the bars don't shake if you let go. They always did with the box attached the 'correct' way & rattling a bit.

Can you still get the Givi pannier racks though? I thought they'd stopped doing them.

They have - only available second hand now and pretty rare to see up for sale
