Hi. Does anyone know what the black paint code is for the gsx1400 engine please

Note from Admin: Moved from the "forum feature requests" thread.. no idea why it was there, but people will see it here!

KiwiCol

Yep, all the paint codes are to be found in the section above called "Downloads"  There's Home, Forum Help Search etc etc.

Click on Downloads, There is 2 sections here, Manuals & General. Click on General.
There are 3 pages of "How to" guides here, scroll down & click on page 2, 2nd entry is GSX1400 Paint Codes.

Download the PDF & it's all there, thanks to Dave Barmy for setting it all up.

No code for the engine black though. The code for the frame black would also be nice to have. Or is everything "YAY Pearl Nebular Black"? Somehow I doubt that, especially for the Ks that didn't come in black.

Oh, engine black.  Didn't read the whole thing properly, just saw paint codes required.

Engine black,   hmmmm,  Red might be able to assist with that one.  Else rattle can gloss black does good on the frame.

@KiwiCol  I used rattle can "high gloss black" (RAL9005) to touch up main stand Not that happy with it. Still need to touch up the frame. Got the RAL# for yours?

KiwiCol

This is what I use, it's a very good match. I've masked off a couple of frame sections, sprayed & you can't see the difference.

No RAL # that I can see, what's a RAL # anyway?  On the wee sticker it does say GA-PK1100  not that that means anything to me.

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Yeah, does a good job though.
Being a panel beater, you'd have all the gear & expertise to do any of the paint requirements on the bike, not so me.

Thanks for the pic, Col! RAL is a standardized color norm. Looking it up, I found that it is a german/european thing. There are conversion tools for the various color standards.

However, I just get that Plastikote  you got.

KiwiCol

If you're going to sand back to metal, get a can of primer as well - that's grey.

I'd be using the same can Col.....or maybe a Fast Dry enamel, nice and easy. But not for the tank !!

Nah, the can is for the frame only. Now you using the same thing really surprises me, I'd of thought you'd be using commercial grade stuff & proper gear.  See, ya learn stuff all the time.

I did the engine, rockers, link pipe, down pipes and even clocks housing with the Hi Temp Plasticote and have to say it's brill, so easy to use. This was over winter and so far is lasting really well.

NB Side panels were standard Rustoleum Gloss Black and match pretty well.
Another example of why Black is the 'thinking man's' choice  :clapping:

Hey guys,
I'm trying to find more info on the k8 and k8z blue/white colour schemes in Australia.
My ride is build 10/07, it seems to have the Special edition colour scheme but the tank colour seems to be k8 standard with the S symbol and not SUZUKI.
Front guard is white (Australia only) apparently?

May not be original
Any help or direction is much appreciated.
