PR4 tires?

Just wondering if anyone has ridden with Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires? My 14 has bridgestone battlax on at the moment and both tires have needed replacing since I brought it 3 weeks ago, front more so than rear but I've done nearly 3k miles on it and the rear is showing cord so no more riding for me until I get a new tyre on it. I've ordered some PR4 GT tires (front and rear) after reading good reviews on them. I know I should have asked prior to buying but just wondering if anyone has had any use with them specifically on the GSX1400?

Also any recommendations for tires in the future?

Kiwifruit

Hi Michael. Im on my third set of PR4's.... not the GT's just the standard ones. I like them.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I'm running same as kiwifruit, and I think they are good tires esp in the wet.

You'd certainly not regret it.

I'm running Pilot Power 3's on my B-King and Pilot Road 3's on my GSX1400 (Due to availability and cost at my local tyre shop) but I'd be happy to try 4's in the future.

Tony I've never run 3's. There were 2's on it when I got the bike and the 4's are noticeably better (but obviously were also newer).   From what I gather people are generally of the opinion the 4 is superior to the 3. FWIW.

I run with PR 4 GT´s and I like them.  Last time I had PR 4 front and PR 4 GT rear and they were worn out in 16 000 km, and its OK result IMO.

I had an 80km ride home from visiting my son yesterday. It was dark with heavy rain. Very sure footed except for a couple of those really glassy looking road repairs. I don't think any tyre likes them.

Seen several reviews saying PR4's loose traction under hard acceleration. Made me a bit weary considering the amount of torque going to the rear wheel on the GSX14. That being said though maybe the reviewers were riding the bikes harder than the tires are designed for? I assume no one here has experienced the PR4's loosing traction?

I canceled the order tho soon after thought I'd still give them a shot but ebay seller didn't see second message until after he canceled it so I thought as It's canceled anyway I'll look at other options. Ended up going for the Metzeler roadtec 01. I know they're not as safe as the Pr4's in the wet but I don't intend on doing much wet weather riding and I don't tend try and corner fast in the wet either, become quite a wimp when the roads get wet still accelerate hard on the straights but not overly confident in the bends especially as there's no way I can fit GSX1400 down the allyway into my garden if I fit engine crash bars on it just about fits as it is lol. May give PR4's a go in the future shall see what these roadtec's are like. Pity tires cost so much can't just stick a pair on and test em out unless you have loads of cash.

I have my PR4 for ~7k km now, and they look almost like new.
Last summer I was participating in drag race on old airfield (just concrete) and I have no problem with traction, running high 11's on 1/4 mile.

If you running alone and without heavy luggage, there is absolutely no need to have PR4 GT tires on 14. Bike in not so heavy.
Of course, its also depending of rider weight...

On my fourth pair of PR4GTs, they don't loose traction unless your a twat & that includes on roads white with frost.

I have never lost traction with PR 4 GT under 0.4 bar of boost. On dry road.
