I'm sure we've heard of slightly higher mileages on here Barmy, not members but bikes they know of.

As to how far it'll go, watch this space...

Incredible distance Hooli, not much has failed. They reckon a 1991 Harley holds the longest ever, one million, like to see its repairs

I've not heard of that one Grog. Sure I've seen about a bloke riding a Goldwing around the world for about a decade & on 570,000miles are just one new engine...

I'd love to know how people fund such trips, indeed a few seem to get rich off them. Must be a great life to lead.

I know that when triumph were resurrected from the dead a Trident went about 235,000 miles before Triumph bought it from the owner and stripped it down to find everything in the engine was still in spec.  Those early triumph triples were well over engineered but it's not bad for a new company.

The Harley with a million, 9 motor rebuilds& 2 new motors, 105 rear tyres,9 new seats. He had to average 125 miles each day for 30 years, not sure how he found time for the repairs.Must be true, its on the internet🤷😀

Eric GSX1400K3

That's 9524 miles (15,238km) for each rear tyre, not bad if it's true.  Not that impressive if it's had 9 motor rebuilds and 2 new motors.

If on the same motor that's been rebuilt, then that'd be something.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Im a bit doubtful on harley story, i do know one high mileage bloke. Honda 6 cylinderGold wing. He did just on 600 th ks, think around 370k miles. Nothing ever broke, reverse gear did actually, Honda fixed it free. I really dont think that bike ever had a problem. That bloke was 70 yrs old when he bought that bike, hope i can do similar.

I get about that from the rear tyre on my HD, so that bit might be true.

It's a reference to Only Fools & Horses Grog.

He's had the same broom for 20 years with just 17 new heads & 14 new handles.

Ill have a look, certainly not Aussie culture. Im guessing you never heard of Norman Gunston or Crocodile Dundee, each to their own i guess

Hooli

Everyone knows Croc Dundee!

That's not a knife...

Andre

Crocodile Dundee. Seen that one a few times. The "that's not a knife" scene I never forget.
