Had my Gen-1 Busa since 2005 or 6.
Had my B-King since 2007.
Had my Bandit 12 since 2009.
Had my GSX1100 since 2008.

My bikes rarely get seriously high mileage as I do like to run a few and the use gets spread amongst them.

Normally my newer bike gets most use and it's often the better bikes for long hauls. I sold my first Gen-1 Busa and H2 SX that both had this role.

I like longer rides, but don't do enough of them anymore to clock up any impressive numbers.

Thought I'd bump this thread with a pic from yesterday morning.

Show off, bet you can't wait for that 200k mark, would love to see that  :notworthy:

I'll never reach that mileage as I don't ride as much as I used to, that and I can't afford that much fuel!

All the best ... Barry

I've said for ages I want to see 250k on it, I'd have to stop riding the others as much to get there. 200k will be a nice milestone though.

To think when I got it in Oct 2007 there was 7,452 on the clock prior to my test ride & I collected it the next day.

That'd be something ... I'd probably even take a day or so to ride down and meet up with you just to see it ... so get the finger out

I got my 'good one' the K3 in 2004 with 4500 miles on the clocks and a destroyed front end ... in the next twelve years I took it up to 103k (although clocks not working for about 3k of that).

I've got another three and a bit years to go on the mortgage, then I'll have more money ... never know I might catch up to (and pass) you  :hat:

All the best ... Barry

P.S. Just worked out what it'd take to catch up with you ... say 70k miles, 30 miles a gallon @ around £7 a gallon (for now) ... around £16k ... that and around two years of doing 100 miles every day :happy1:

I've carefully never worked the cost out, but I know mine does around 50mpg overall, better on a run & worse on short trips. So it'll be cheaper than you think.

Highest ive ever heard on 14, 312ks/194 miles. Youre getting there Hooli.  :clapping:

Bump!

I've obviously really slacked over winter this year, only done 3k on my 14 since October. I do apologise for poor service there.

That really is impressive and just goes to show what a joy they are to ride and how easy to keep going.

I think I'm at around 42k on mine, but it has to share my love with others.

Long may you enjoy it.

Pete.

Oh I've put 24k on my HD in 18 months recently too & had various other bikes alongside my 14 too.

You really need to find a bike with a bunk on it, you could sleep on it too

Re-posting this here - I got confused between the "High Milers" thread and the "High Milers Club" thread...  :confused1:

QuoteWhat issues you had Black?

@Grog - I posted up details in this thread when I hit 280k kms back in November 2022. Since then the only issue I've had is a failure to start (see this thread - https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=7857.0) which, after a lot of mucking around, was eventually resolved by cleaning a bridge connector next to the tail light... That unfortunate episode was day 1 of an 8 day 3500km ride which was then completed on a mates GPZ 1100 - a very different experience to the 1400!

The 1400 doesn't do anything like the kms it used to these days - COVID put an end to the commuting kms and retirement ensured they will never return, and it has to share ride time with my 5 other bikes too. On the plus side, the kms it does do are far more enjoyable than the commuting chore.
I plan on living forever - so far, so good!

Thought I'd bump this thread with a new couple of pics to prove these things don't wear out.
