Not normally my thing, but when your offered some $240 a piece tickets,
food and drink with the Former Origin Greats and a lift there and home
I thought it would make a change for a night out.

Band "Birds of Tokyo" were OK.

Brilliant when at Wigan, fantastic ball handler and all round nice bloke who had time for everyone.
Why shake, rattle and roll when you can ride in style, get yourself a GSX1400..........................Any colour as long as its?

Qld did get well and truly beaten at home but that's not all bad.
Since I've been here they have overall dominated the comp for most
of the recent years and a Blues win certainly keeps it interesting.

It was impressive to see 50,000+ folk out mid week and so passionate about their sport.

Was also moving to see 50,000+ folk stand silent in tribute to a recently murdered Police Officer. Everyone was very loud and in high spirits and it was quite moving when the place fell silent.

Rugby league communities are always very inclusive and passionate, I spent many a time watching the kangeroos touring over here at big venues such as Old Trafford and Wembley, always had 50,000 plus, greats of my time were Wally Lewis, Mal Meninga, Laurie daley, the Stewarts, Lockyer and many many more, I still have a Ausie tour shirt from back in the 90s.........Best team sport in the world

Some familiar names there Leyther.

The statue in the post above is outside our local ground.
It's of "King Wally" Lewis.

A local highway West I use has been renamed "Darren Lockyer Way"

Very worthy and fitting tributes, I have a mate living on the gold coast, an avid Broncos fan but still follows our home town club Leigh. Good to see some of our exports doing well down there, Burgess brothers, James Graham and Widop to name just three. I recently watched a programme called NRL Rookie, well worth a look, the capabilities of these guys is phenomenal.

I lived in Kidderminster UK until I was 40.
We had our local soccer team the Harriers but a lot of folk followed either West Brom, Villa, Birmingham City or the Wolves. I saw a few games but never got that into it.

Moving to Australia was a bit of an eye opener with the passion for Rugby League !!

The company where my wife works sponsors a major comp so we get access to games and get to meet players etc. To an "outsider" like me, it's a whole different world !

You guys are lucky you dont have to support the Warriors or the Kiwi's.
You never know whose going to front up for the Warriors. They can at times beat the top teams and the following week get beaten by the bottom teams. Frustrating !!
As for the Kiwi's.....by crikey they do a good Haka, then cant hold the ball or make tackles.
But the captain and a team mate are excellent at snorting the most cocaine after the game

The Origin game sounds like it was a bit of an upset. Hearing it was a great game.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I can relate to this Kiwifruit - Our local team Leigh are currently second bottom of super league, they have some good scalps but no consistency, the Warriors lost the plot signing Sam Tomkins from Wigan a few seasons back and don't seem to have recovered, they can only be better without him.

The things you see !

I met this young lady on the way to the game.
She was promoting a local "Gentlemans Club" called Love and Rockets.

Mrs just laughed at me.
Seeing as I like being both married, and remaining connected to my body's extremities, I thought it best I gave the place a miss!
