Hi out there

Anyone had probs with their gsx1400 dripping fuel constantly out of the breather? My bike is 2002 injection version if it helps? The tank isn't pressurised nor full to the brim but this is baffling. Running rich too,anyone go any ideas please,possible injector probs??

What do you mean with breather?

Ps. my k2 doesn't leak anything from anywhere.

That's a real odd one Beaver, are you sure it's actually coming from inside the overflow / breather? not running down the outside & dripping?
The breather is at the top of the tank by the fill neck & can't have fuel in it all the time.
Sounds line one of your connections under the tank as come adrift & is leaking. I'd be starting with running my eye over those for a start.

My petrol overflow on my bandit 1200 was dripping and it was due to the pipework inside the tank corroding and letting fuel into the line which then ran out. Fortuanatly I managed to run a smaller diameter tube down the inside of the metal pipework and this stopped any further leaks......not sure if the gsx is set up the same as the bandit though???

If the bike is left parked up over winter and the tank isn't brimmed with fuel to stop condensation forming, the metal breather/overflow pipe inside the tank corrodes through allowing fuel to leak out of the pipe.

Given the age of the bike it'd be worth while giving all the fuel lines a thorough examination. The ethanol in many modern fuels can attack certain plastics as I found on my Guzzi, I had spotted a leak from one pipe so replaced that but found that various others had cracks and had gone a bit spongy so I replaced the lot. By using approved petrol resisitant fuel hose from the local yacht chandlers they should now be unaffected by modern fuels and I got enough to do the whole bike for less than a tenner
