anyone used hammerite black on fork legs? any tips if i decide to paint. mask up seals etc i know. what about axle holes and threads for brakes, guard etc. i never remember if lower bits are stanchions or legs. i mean the bits with adjusters at bottom, not the shiny things that slide in and out. another seniors moment.

Someone on here has, i'm sure they will be in touch soon, think it was Seth.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

I've used it to touch up the frame, it is a good match for the frame and nice hard paint.

I would think it would be OK for the forks, you just might have to do light coats to avoid runs.

Use an Etch primer first if the Hammerite is not self etching. Will key better.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Hi Grog,
I did mine with Hammerite last year before having them powder coated this year. It's good stuff and certainly tough enough but only problem is you put it on with a brush, so the finish is never gonna be top notch. On the plus side you can do it without taking anything off but is more of a patch up than proper job. Hake emmoff and spray them If you want a proper job then stick Heli tape on 👍
